Not gonna open the whole downed state can of worms…I think it’s fine, to be honest, but that argument can go on forever.
Absolutely agree with chat wheel and skill pinging (like in Guild Wars 1). Even without the complicated stuff, simply saying “I’m using Shadow Refuge!” is enough, especially if it shows up as a chat bubble over the character as all chat does so you don’t even have to look at the chat window. And chat wheel is effective because there are a fairly limited number of things you have to say in a game…“going to far”, “enemy at home”, etc…
Not sure about voice communication, in general it’s good but my experience in games that offer it is that it’s more annoying than convenient, and makes people with microphones less likely to use the chat wheel or skill ping (if those also existed), which i’d actually prefer them to use…
Overall, I agree with pretty much all of the suggestions, and erratic writing style aside, they’re presented quite clearly as well, so ANET devs really have no excuse here.
Also anyone getting annoyed at Vee Wee’s mannerisms really needs to get out of the cave they’ve been hiding in…it’s been that way for a while and not going to change, and personally I find it hilarious
If you’re looking for a dps build that’s a bit different, give this a look.

Lots of symbol damage, good condition removal and great in team fights. Works really well on point with the symbols, and the consecrations fit the build really well.
No meditations but all three meditation traits?
I’m just gonna assume that’s an error or something, but you might wanna fix that up
Agreed, 5 radiance 5 virtues is probably your best bet. The amount of utility it offers is much better than a very conditional +10% damage.
And yeah, for PvE Writ of Persistence is much better than Two-Handed Mastery, perma protection is nice and honestly allows you to get away with DPS gear in just about everything.
Agreed, I like the idea. Not only does it solve the mobility issue (and it’s not like a huge fix either, since like you said you’d have to drop CoP for it, which is a bit of a compromise), but it also solves another issue: literally no one ever in the history of the game has ever used Merciful Intervention (not counting spirit weapon wall glitching), mostly because it’s completely broken and unreliable, in addition to being useless.
Very well thought-out and written, and I have to say I agree with pretty much all of it.
I really like your idea for the final fight with Zhaitan as well.
One problem: if Fort Trinity gets destroyed in the final fight, and the Pact gets scattered, what does that mean for the open world?
Fort Trinity is an actual place on the map, and before the final fight, it should exist, and act as a base of operations for events around Orr, and so on. So clearly, that part of the map should look different for someone who has completed the story and someone who has not, but that’s just impossible to implement. The story tries carefully to avoid this sort of problem, but with your scenario it’s unavoidable.
I’m sure someone’s brought this up already, but I didn’t read through all of the comments.
Otherwise, bravo!

looks like shaders did the trick, not sure why that didn’t work for me before.
Thanks so much! putting shaders up to high doesn’t seem to have affected my performance much either, which is perfect

edit: apparently bbcode doesn’t work in spite of what they say…how do i do images?

Not sure what the protocol here is in terms of adding on posts, but yeah I’ve had the same problem. Seems like an incredibly useful trait that is basically useless for me. Also fairly difficult to test with Signet of Judgment, which would be my ideal use for it.
Figured I’d respond to this to bump it up
Can't Get High-Res Character Textures to Work

Hi all!
I can’t get my high-res character textures to work. I heard that if the game deems your computer hardware incapable of running hi-res textures, it’ll simply grey out the box for that option, but that’s not the case on my computer.
I’ve got High-Res Character Textures as well as Best Texture Filtering both checked, and the rest of the settings are around medium, but all of the armor/character textures in the game are showing up as really blurry low-res textures, which is a huge shame considering how good some of the armor sets are supposed to look.
I’ve tried reinstalling the game, I’ve tried turning all of the graphics up to max and restarting the game, I’ve tried updating my graphics drivers, but none of that has worked.
Also, for some weird reason, this one random time I logged on the high-res textures worked, which means my hardware is physically capable of supporting it and that the texture files ARE there. It’s only happened once though, and was completely random.
Any help you guys could give me would be great! Thanks!
