Same as the previous beta… please see attached screenshot. In the attached screenshot, the texture of the roof of the house or tent in front of my character is not supposed to be white like that.
Its a shame that these drivers were supposed to give performance boosts. I got some fps increase in F12012, but I play GW2 more so… I decided to switch back to the reliable 306.97…

I dont know if u’ve read my topic about this, but I’ve had the same situation last Oct 15 patch. I went totally nuts trying to figure out what happened. From 60 fps, it got cut off by 50% 30 fps everywhere, even in lowest settings! All the other games are playing well!
Turns out, I needed to unplug my monitor from the video card, and use another monitor! When I played GW2 again, I was so surprised to see that its back to 60 fps again! I plugged in my true monitor, and its working fine!
You should all try this to see if it would work for you guys. I dont know what happened but Im pretty sure it has got somethign to do with Arenanet’s patch.
I got bored with scepter… so I’m now GS and Sword+focus, gottta love the infinite blinds and blocks

Definitely the GPU. I’ve seen it a few times before when I’m about to buy a new GPU. I fry my old one like hell (OC) and play it for hours just to test how far it can go
It looks like a client problem… I’m guessing you need to have a reinstall of your GW2 client…
Thanks, I’ll look into that as well Raga. I"m probably gonna get a new gfx card by mid November.
I’m not from UK I wish that CPU was available in the nearest computer store here… anyway, thanks, I’m gonna have to settle with the 3570k which I think would give me enough juice anyway, so, thanks too!

Switch monitors…
I’ve been experiencing steady FPS (60’ish w/ vsync on in light load areas) prior to the Oct 15th patch when suddenly I loaded the game and I’m stuck at fps rates below 15 fps!
I’ve been troubleshooting everything and couldnt really find a solution so I thought a CPU upgrade was timely (currenly on core i3 2100 @ 3.1 Ghz). As a last ditch effort, I tried to plug my CPU to our TV… and to my surprise… I got back my old FPS! WTF is that??! Now I’m using my usual monitor again and I’m still able to play at a steady 60’ish fps.
I dont know if there are others who experienced the same issue but I hope I’ll be able to save someone some precious bucks… dont hesitate to PM me if you have any questions about what I’ve done and what my system specs are.
Happy gaming!
thanks for the replies, im prolly gonna get the cpu upgrade. id love to go for the 2550k but its not available… so, hopefully, this would solve my severe performance issues…
bringing upppp my topic
bringing up my post…
Thanks for the reply. I just didnt get the first statement, what do you mean by wait however long I need to? Wait for what?
Hi guys,
I’m looking to upgrade my PC so I can play GW2 decently. I have been experiencing severe FPS dips even if I’m alone and I’m running the game at all very low settings – the frame rate just wants to stay at 15 fps.
Before the Oct 15 patch, I have been running the game in pve very smoothly at 60 fps at 1080p resolution with vsync on, and subsample textures.
I have an intel core i3 2100 cpu running at 3.1 GHz, with 8 GB of RAM, and my ever reliable Geforce 9800 GT 128 bit with 1 GIG ddr2 ram.
I can only upgrade one part (budget constraints) and I’m looking at getting one of the two options below:
Zotac GTX550 Ti OC AMP! 1gb ddr5 6250
Intel Core i5-3470 (3.2G) 6mb 22nm 8900
Which would be the better option? Thanks in advance!
Ok, so for some really weird miraculous reason, I got it back up to normal! I’m 60 fps again no matter where I go!
Wtf is this. I’m happy I can play again but I’m afraid if it happens again, I really dont know what the source was.
What I did after the reinstall of the client was I uninstalled winrar, and 7-zip, just because I was getting an error with unpacking the nvidia drivers I just downloaded. I havent event installed the latest drivers yet.
Like what shorty said, what gives arenanet?
You can still play it, there’s an option in game where you can turn off those shaders.
So I’m done with a new install of the game. It’s still the same. Let me try with the newest drivers from NVIDIA. kitten #8230; crossing my fingers…
I’ve been reading a lot of topics around the net hoping to find solutions for my issue with GW2. Surprisingly, I am not alone!
I’m able to run my other games fine just like before and its just GW2 that acted up today. What the hell is going on?
I do not plan to upgrade my rig for just one game as I’ve said, I’m still able to play my other games at 60 fps with vsync on.
I’m very sure this is a client issue rather than a hardware issue. I’m doing a fresh install of GW2 right now and the latest NVIDIA drivers are ready too for installation. I hope this would fix the problem I have. Otherwise, Arenanet, you need to fix this, undo whatever you’ve done overnight.
Thanks
