Now I have a big dilemma. Should i change profession or game?

I have a problem with trait called “right hand strenght”. This ability should increase my critical chance when i use one handed weapon. Here’s a description of the Trait
Critical-hit chance with one-handed weapons is increased by 15%.
I wear a sword and shield, i activated the trait and nothing happend. Critical chance is sitll on 46 %. Is this invisible in my stats, and works well?
