Are the comeback pips limited to being within the same reset?
I lost 3 in a row on Friday then wasn’t able to play until Sunday (so after 2 daily resets) and won my first game back – however I only received 1 pip for the win. So I’m just wondering if I’m hitting a bug or it is working as intended.
Actually people are using professions swapping even in low tier ques.
I’m one of those people that switches in low tiers… I do it for the following reasons:
1. The match making system has linked me up with multiple of the same class and a bit more diversity helps (e.g. I was on my thief and ended up with 2 others thieves so I switched)
2. I’ll do it to counter heavily stacked other teams e.g. where I’m facing 3+ necros I tend to switch to a profession that can handle the conditions better and isn’t just feeding them more conditions to return to me.
3. To counter the other team or because I’ve come up with Stronghold versus conquest I’ll also switch between my two engineers – one is a condition build, the other a power build… and changing your build is a PITA so it is quicker and easier to switch characters.
(4. Because I queued while sorting out my bags on one character but I actually wanted to play on the other one).
But that said, I’m not opposed to having profession based MMR and lock-out of characters particularly. Regardless of build, I like to think I know and play better on my engineer than I do on other professions and that should be reflected.
But, particularly in this case, it would be nice if there was a way to quickly and easily change between pre configured builds on a character.
I’ve had this too – lost my first game, won the second and no pip (unfortunately I only realised I didn’t get it until after I had left the match so I couldn’t confirm the message and had no more wins to see if it was a one off issue)
But, it may be an issue with general match completion because I had related issues with the new daily achievement and the daily participant achievement from the meta.
I play from Australia, and I played on both NA (Jade Quarry) and EU (Far Shiverpeaks) last night (F2P account on EU) with somewhere from 280 – 350 ping to NA and 400+ for EU.
On EU it took two matches before I completed the new daily (happened after first game on NA) and I had to play 4 matches before the daily participant achievement from the meta was completed (first tier in EU).
On the flip side I got the necromancer daily win achievement with my win – so it wasn’t the case of no achievements being resolved by the end condition of the game.
If you want to access it without changing your dns settings just replace the guildwars2.ncsoft.com part of the URL with echo7.bluehornet.com
I’m guessing it is because they have only just changed the domain name and it hasn’t propagated to the name servers yet. You can try again in a couple of days (or add a manual entry to your hosts file if you know what you’re doing).
My local DNS in Australia doesn’t return anything for the domain, however I did a lookup for guildwars2.ncsoft.com via my work servers in Europe and it did resolve as follows:
guildwars2.ncsoft.com is an alias for echo7.bluehornet.com.
echo7.bluehornet.com has address 216.54.194.1
It’s an alias to echo7.bluehornet.com – the company hosting the survey/post information. You can just replace the guildwars2.ncsoft.com with echo7.bluehornet.com and it will work.
Anet needs to make sure they change the dns setting at least 48 hours before pushing out the emails… or actually set it up as a redirect from a domain that isn’t going to change.
