I play on the German server “Drakkari Lake”.

Yet my game client talks exclusively to addresses in texas. (even when I´n not playing on “overflow” servers).

Arenanet said in interviews that there would be European servers.

("There are two data centers, one in North America and one in Europe. If, for example, you were wanting to play from North America you’ll need to buy a North American copy of the game. If you wanted to play from Europe you’ll need to purchase a European copy of the game. Those who don’t fall into either of those two regions will default to the North American data center….)

Now the game is out, but the “European” servers are in Texas, and the game is laggy as hell.

So when will we get servers in Europe?

Well, that explains a lot. I really hope they migrate the servers to their customers’ countries soon.

It seems the game is mostly singlethreaded. Your OS cycles it around the cores for thermal reasons, but the game is really just using one core.

While chasing an elusive vista spot I fell through the world. Ended up in an immense, serene looking lake.

Logged out and on again, woke up on top of a mountain.

Even the bugs in this game are awesome.

I’m playing on German server Drakkari Lake.

I was trying to figure out why the game felt so laggy. Turns out I´m playing on servers in Austin, Texas. (206.127.159.166 etc.)

Is this some temporary fallback / emergency measure that we were migrated to US servers? If so, when will be back on German servers?
