Guild Wars 2

I’m sort of upset that this probably didn’t even get read by Arena Net; I appreciate Anet are all gamers; they know what the game needs, but do Anet actively take part in any guilds?

I’m not sure if they realize how baron guild content is in GUILD Wars 2 compared to other games.

Makes me sad.

Closed Combat GvG

Closed combat GvG is sort of like a big sPvP match? Or a Mini-World vs World instance. Every week guilds can sign up (for a fee) to a guild tournament with a cool ‘bonus’ for winning. Maybe every one of the main cities could have one; or something cool like that and the objective would be a simply death match, an objective based game play (holding points like conquest?) or it could be a Castle Siege like very many other games for instance you could allow 3 Guilds to fight at a time; use an Instance of eternal battlegrounds and the first guild to take it and defends it for 15 minutes wins the city; or something cool like that. The next week it’s the guilds job to defend and the other 3 guilds have to attack adding a whole other guild perspective.

This could even be increased to allow many guilds fight under the same banner! Smaller guilds could support bigger guilds and receive benefits as well; adding another social side to the game. I’d love to see this happen and it’s probably the most fun out of the three idea’s and the most ‘Guild Wars-esque’

Guild sPvP Relay

Another tournament option that happens once a month called a guild tournament relay; Guilds can enter 5 teams of 5 and play a sort of ‘team league’ tournament. This could be great with a spectator mode to see a guilds ‘A’ Team all-kill a guild, or a guild be about to be all-killed and then have an amazing one team come back! I really feel this is the most likely option and is probably my least favourite but ‘easiest’ to implement.

Honestly, in the end if all types of those PvP were introduced; I’d be so very happy and I know very many people would feel the same as I get rather upset about the subject every now and then and many people I’ve met just chatting in /map feel the same.

Guild vs. Guild isn’t the only content that could make guilds feel more useful; however.

Guild challenges would be just as good; you can research it after Level 5 of Politics (which currently has no function) costs let’s say… 100K to build; the leader can activate it and every one online gets a message asking if they’d like to participate in the guild challenge. It could be anything from PvE waves of increasing strength with a leader board of guilds to who survived the furthest; to a ‘speed clear’ sort of test also with a leader board and times.

Might I add this is probably my key thing? Leader boards. Prestige. There is none of that. WvW could be made so much better by simple statistics at the end of the WvW on a ‘WvW hall of fame’ or something in the mists with last cycle’s top contributing guilds, the player who spent the most money on upgrades, how many dolyaks died; fun stats like that.

It’s easy and simple to do.

I’ll stop for now and add more to this post tomorrow as I’d like the quality to be as high as possible to at least get a basic of basic responses from a red.

I won’t say “needs” to be added; but allow me to give a brief introduction to set how I’m feeling right now; so maybe that if by some miracle someone from Arena Net actually reads this; they will understand better why these features should be added to a game.

I’m the guild leader of Genesis Gaming; a behemoth in f2p gaming, but let’s not brag. In an MMORPG guild content is everything to me. Whether it’s gearing out a whole guild or GvG and proving top of all the other guilds, or just a simple ‘GRIND TO GAIN GUILD LEVEL AND BE #1!!!’ honestly; it doesn’t matter. Something to strive for, something to log on for something my whole guild can get together and accomplish.

Right now Guild Wars 2 doesn’t have anything like that, it’s a beautiful world and an amazing game but my guild is… pointless? It’s a social feature that’s bigger than a party but serves no real function besides buffs etc.

To give this thread some structure so maybe my idea’s will be considered I’ll break down these in to different topics of what I feel could be done to maybe increase it’s chance of getting looked at, or a reply would be even better.

Guild vs. Guild
I said it; it seems to be something you guys arn’t 100% sure about because everyone who brang back rumours and lies from Gamescom and other similar events brought up Guild vs. Guild which is something you guys made sure to let us know what nothing but a rumour, but I can’t help but feel (if not just for the namesake of “Guild Wars” GvG is something we need. I realize you have World vs. World as your mass combat and that guilds can have 500 people in them so that it’s also just another massive form of PvP but as far as my guild goes; claiming a keep that no one knows is ours, or even dominating WvW for no real reward at the end of it is… disheartning. I realize a lot about your design and concept for Guild Wars 2 was to take ego, farming and other such ‘negative’ MMORPG traits away but I don’t believe GvG was a negative experience; not once. Desolation has this problem with right now there are too many small guilds and only 2-3 big ones; everyone want’s to be a leader. That’s great! because thanks to your great game; you can be in multiple guilds! So everyone can keep their small communities but they should also have a reason to join a bigger one. We do WvW raids every day but honestly it’s not scratching that “itch”

I don’t know if it’s something you’re planning or something you’re thinking about; but please consider GvG. I have a few idea’s on how you could implement it and they all seem like they could work and add the ‘spice’ guilds needs as right now; all forms of WvW are completely seperate from the ‘real’ Tyria and it’s kind of underwhelming; WvW get’s reset constantly and doesn’t have any sort of persistancy and sPvP (while very fun) is competitive arena based PvP which doesn’t really count as guilds. (I could talk more about how sPvP needs some love; but I’ll stay on topic)

Declare War GvG
Guild Wars 2 is about the world of Tyria uniting to fight the elder dragons, or at least that’s what the current campaign is about. Uniting Destiny’s Edge and the five races to fight something that couldn’t possibly fought alone… however along that path obviously races and even the legendary Destiny’s Edge have problems; so why can’t our own guilds? Declare war is a very common feature in PvE heavy or games with very separate PvP; but I’m sure this is something you’re completely aware of.

The idea is simple, you should be able to ‘declare war’ on a guild for let’s say for a set time, let’s say a week. During this time you can engage in combat in the open world whenever that guild is seen; you can’t stalk people because you can only know their ‘general’ location and the map is huge! It’s impossible to grief because people don’t need to “leave their guilds” if they’re in a GvG they don’t like, they simply either un-represent until they go away (thus adding some ‘difficulty’ to earning Influence Points) or ask their guild master to “Surrender” you could also make it fun by adding an optional ‘Declaration of war fee’ where it costs 1G to declare war as a base, so you can’t spam it but you can increase that amount as a ‘bet’ or stakes. It’s fun and gambling is always fun. To make it even more ‘restricted’ you could make it even more gold but the gold would be deducted from the Guild Warehouse and also added to the guild warehouse if you win.

It’s sad that not a word from Arena Net has been given.

It’s an exploit if Teamspeak guilds are purposefully going invisible due to the games poor coding.

As a guild leader of one of the only ‘big’ WvW guilds on Desolation and a Commander; it’s often frustrating when we’re gaining ground and out of no where, 50-80 odd Vizunah Square players appear not next to us… but right in the middle of us.

It always made me wonder why if it was a simple matter of character’s on screen limit being reached, why they wouldn’t appear to the side of us and AoE us to death and we go “Welp, chuck testa”

However that isn’t the case: It’s a systematic abuse of game mechanics, we happened to scout the road ahead for once after being invisible-zerg destroyed three times in a row and we saw AT LEAST 50 VS [FR] players balling on top of each other. Now this wasn’t a “Re-group” they were purposefully all standing in the same location so that when they fanned out, the game (in all it’s badly designed glory) for handling multiple players on screen renders maybe 1 player every 3 seconds or so. Which means it can very quickly turn in to a “Oh it’s just one guy” to… "Oh wow, there are 5 rangers standing right inside of our grow who have all used their Binding Elite and a bunch of warriors using one hundred blades stomping us; this is fun!

I’ve seen guilds like War Legend do this multiple times and it’s always before a stop point.

I am not throwing random accusations out and I’ll aim to capture actual video footage of this, but my whole guild has seen it and anyone that was with me on that raid.

It makes roaming impossible; it makes capturing keeps impossible it makes any WvW where there are organized bug-abusing French (I label them as French as it’s a French server)

Somethign needs to be done.

I don’t want to nag; really. I get that you are humans have 10,000 tickets to deal with but tomorrow it’ll have been a week with 0 response to my ticket besides a copy and paste message.

What frustrates me more is that the topic title was changed to something completely irrelevant so I’m worried it’ll get brushed over for another week as the title says it’s something completely stupid while in reality (at least in my eyes) 44 Gold going missing without an answer is a pretty big deal)

We’ve already made the other 56G we need to buy Squad Commander; but can’t because of no reply to my ticket.

A follow up would be very much appreciated.

About a week ago 34gold and ‘some amount of silver’ disappeared from my inventory (not due to hacking, thef, etc etc etc) due to some random game bug and my ticket just got a response about the Gem store and it’s title was changed to something completely irrelevant.

My entire guild contributed to 43 gold to save up for the Commander upgrade; we’ve just hit 43 gold again so i’d like my money to be given back so we’re about 14G away.

Over 45G missing from my account, out of no where.
0% chance I was hacked, glad to see it’s a known issue, but I didn’t “mass” order anything, I just logged in today and all the money our guild was saving up is gone.

Scary stuff.
