This may very well be my first ever forum post but I feel as though I needed to post it.
I will break this post into two sections. Quick overview of the complaints many people have and then the reasons why I am loving the expansion.
Complaints
Everything is time gated
Elite spec is taking forever to get.
In my opinion(yes my own opinion) This is the only part of the expansion i was disappointed with until I realized something. I couldn’t use any utility, save my healing skill, at the launch of guild wars 2 I had to level and every certain amount of levels I unlocked the ability to purchase new skills with skill points. Could I get all the skills right away? No sometimes i wouldn’t have the required amount of skill points.
Mastery’s require too much exp
Mastery’s were not made to be completed in 1 day or 2 days they are something that you work towards as a goal. Throw on a kill streak booster. Exp Boosters and use other consumables that grant you % exp and they level up super fast.. MY guess is that 95% of the people complaining are also not using any sort of food buff…..
Why I am Loving this expansion
It made the game feel like it did when it first came out. All the exploring to do all the hidden rooms to find. (Already found a few hidden places that are pretty freaking amazing eyegasms)
After realizing that the elite spec actually required some work to get it I am loving the challenge some of the Hero points have. Brings more focus to the game then running full zerker and pushing 1. Granted I am still in my full zerker gear but I am having to rely more on my positioning and skill usage to make sure I do not go down during most fights. Remember we do have a dodge function for a reason.
Anticipation for raids is starting to kill me. With some of the new mechanics in open world pve the raid difficulty is going to feed a hunger for something hard to do in the game.
Fractals: Oh where to begin. This may be one of the most ingenious updates to a “dungeon” like mode of the game yet. I was a little shocked by the price of ascended salvage kits but the amount of rewards you get after completing fractal mastery’s is crazy. Only made it to fractal level 65 so far and some of the maps are requiring my normal group of friends and I to take a step back and think about each encounter. I have even done a few fractal 60’s with a friend that does not have HoT.
HoT Story: This might be my favorite part of this update. MY goodness did the actual story bring me back to remembering the good old guild wars 1 days.
Tl;Dr I enjoy the expansion and people need to just take a chill pill and play the game and the unlocks will come.
As for the topic. If it offends you in anyway I would just suggest playing a different game for the duration of April fools!
It was once stated that if “terrorists” disrupt our daily lives to the point where we begin to remove stuff from video games because of it then said “terrorists” win. I use the term terrorists to deem that this act of killing people by this copilot was not just suicide it was an act of terrorism. Race/Religion has nothing to do with whether it was a mass murder or a terrorist act. All mass murder acts are terrorism.
As for Anet doing the plane joke in game. More people are dying everyday of starvation then in airplanes. (Not saying that either is more of a tragedy than the other) So since that is the case Anet should remove all the cooking stations and consumables from the game.

What are peoples thoughts?
What about on the winning teams end?
If a player does not score a kill or capture or anything for that matter, are they out of any real points or progression?Should there be a time limit before one can use the /resign command?
I think that this would be a great thing to implement into the game. Winning team would obviously get full rewards just like a win. If a player on the team has no points then he or she would not receive any reward just like it is now.
As for a time limit I think the 5 minute mark would be a perfect time limit for this to work. or if you lose a player on the team anytime you can resign.
Implementing this would of course be interesting. It would have to be done for Ranked and Unranked but not for hotjoin or customs just to eliminate the “exploiting” that would go on.
It is very frustrating when you are playing ranked and the match starts and you are already at a disadvantage of a 4v5. Then you have to sit there and play till the time ends. Granted sometimes you can win a 4v5.
Going to the edge of the platform resets your self to like you never entered. It is the same as the maw fractals. If your team kills the 2 tentacles or gets wiped at the maw when you re enter the area of the maw you get the agony again. Same goes for the molten fractals. As for invisible fireballs. I have never had this happen but a friend has had it happen untill he fraps’d his screen and a few of us watched it. What was happening was the circle is behind him and he actually was getting hit by the fireball before it hit the ground meaning it appeared like an invisible fireball hit him when really it hit him before it made it to the aoe circle on the ground.
Is it too hard? Respect the awesome work

Currently have 2 green weapons and have been in World 2 zone 1 for the past 3 hours on Tribulation mode. I must say that once you do stuff and then you go back in you can fly through tribulation mode. It is all about finding the patterns in things. The water spouts are easy when you spot what needs to be done. Going to love getting all the weapons as green and yellow skins!!!! Also just finished world 2 zone 1 tribulation mode!!!

I for one am loving this dungeon. It isn’t difficult at all. In fact been playing around with “speed group builds” and we have been able to reach the final boss at around the 14 minute mark. We kill the end boss around the 24-26 minute mark so each run is taking us about 26 minutes.
The biggest thing that makes this dungeon easy is guardian dodge roll healing in the final boss, and having everyone rotate around the room in 1 ball for the cannon phase. At this phase if all 5 are balled up roaming around the room you will not get hit by 1 cannon shot. If you do someone is out of position.
The main problem that I have seen and heard from friends running in pugs is that most pugs still do not seem to realize they can dodge and or are on all zerker or mf sets. Remember guildwars 2 is about synergy. Take 5 minutes after setting up your group to go over armor and skills so that you all take skills that compliment each other. Gaurdian stability for the first boss. warriors- battle standard for last boss
Speed buffs for last boss. Insta downed to res skills for last boss. Most people complaining about pugs have one of the issues mentioned above.
In short this dungeon is one of the best implemented content so far in the game to demonstrate who has any sort of understanding for game mechanics. Good job Anet
