i don’t think putting arrow carts there to get your trebs is an exploit and i am pretty sure height IS calculated into the distance it can fire… (i notice on higher surfaces i can’t shoot as far OUT as i can when on lower walls etc etc).. now the trebs spontaneously dieing is strange… they are classified as “objects” so can’t be bleed/doted…

if arrow karts are not restricted vertically let me know how you know, i am just going by personal experience when setting up at different keeps/towers…. they have a base range of 2500 i believe (not sure what the upgraded karts get)

wait i think i may know what you meant he was hitting the BASE of the cliff with the circle but it was still hitting you up on top??? is that what you were saying.. if so that isn’t right, but maybe it is because the arrow karts come from the top down or something..

you sure?? it has always felt like out of combat only to me..

scorp wire HATES!!!! going up hill… yanking off a wall it works great… yanking down a hill works great.. yank someone up a hill you hit them pull em about 1 MM and BAM wire breaks and they just act like they were knocked down…

And yes scorp wire does not like barriers in the way it will still “aim” towards the person and fire but you will miss, unlike most spells (or even arrows) that if you fire them before the target moves out of view it will still hit… EVERYONCE in awhile i have had a scorp wire pull someone through a wall, but i would say i have seen that twice out of 100’s and 100’s of times…

but i have just learned NEVER use this skill when you have the highground on your target or it will fail and simply knock them down, also noticed due to lag if your using it on the run often the target appears behind you (where it WOULD of been right in front if you stoped running the second you fired it)..

still when the skill does work it is fun as heck to yank someone off a wall and see them panic for a few seconds trying to figure out what happened…

SiN is known for using this exploit, and it is NOT a hidden mesmer as they love to say… there are a few “holes” they can see through and make a portal, but most likely this is using one of the hack programs out there that allow no gravity, or no clipping, or teleport (all 3 works via hacks, because honestly the Gw2 server code SUCKS, it trusts where you are it does no double checking to see if it is possible for you to be where your client SAY you are) and then going back and setting up a portal so all the players without the hack can get in.

SiN has also been jumping servers i saw a few on Sorrows the other night sitting in the keep when it was under attack by rall… shrug

it is known it happens and at least all 3 servers know that guild is known for it..
most of us wait a fair and fun fight, and don’t hack/exploit to win…

i know about the trebs up where you can’t hit them, but that can be done on any map, and honestly i am not sure HOW arenanet is going to fix that, it is annoying i admit.. not sure i would call it a cheat or even an exploit… the player that jumped into the tower after it was capped, i gotta admit i wonder if they were questioning what happened, i did notice after we got the gate to about 30% they all left.. i think they realized something fishy was going on when we it happened 4 times without the “zerg” being there… but just because someone runs into a “questionable” captured tower.. you can’t throw em all in the pot, though i admit i was fighting them outside too and it WAS frustrating, just wish i could of told them “hey you realize someone exploited to capture that right?”
I was there when we lost EB to the trebs that you can’t destory (up by the barracks) but that was darkhaven doing that, i am sure we have the same trebs in our borderlands just as darkhave and rall does…. i think the best fix is to change ballista’s so they can target siege from MUCH MUCH further away (JUST siege not players) so you can at least setup a good spot and hold it long enough to destroy those trebs that are in “impossible to reach” places..

not saying your opinion/feelings are wrong ravaha.. i just may not have had as much experience with it, i have only been in the borderlands for 48 hours normally i ran eternal battlegrounds (but the queue was just getting ot be too much!)

SF…. btw i am not accusing everyone that is why we wanted the screenshots, i suspect most of rall would be furious to know this is going on, i know we would be if someone on our side does it and we would WANT the guild called out and blacklisted… we knew it was just a small group doing this not a huge zerg (because they were moving between the 2 keeps not even bothering with the supply points)

btw i know someone will say “the mesmer could of been stealthed” to just PRE-answer that.. unless the guy was stealthed for a good 3-4 minutes solid and can also cast portal when stealthed… this was not a ninja mesmer hiding inside… heck the 2nd time was lost redbriar the group that did it didn’t even bother to destroy our ram outside the gate it was still there waiting for us to cap it back again..

to reply to Elthurien, this was not a mesmer inside…. these guys came up from the outside (mesmer included), so this was not a house cleaning issue.. two of us sat in the tower running around waiting to lose it to this group (after it happened 3 times already) they came up from the outside and somehow were able to place a portal right on the edge of the wall and then they all came up, we watched the portal appear, oddly we could NOT see them outside they must of been behind the lords tower or behind the side there was no way to see them from the portal (even looked straight down where portal was and didn’t see them) this is not a tactic, if it was why bother having rams in the first place?

I can 2nd this, i can not confirm any use of a true “hack” (such as teleporting/flying) but i did watch the guild SiN portal into redgard, about 4 SiN members and 2 or 3 non members, they mesmer portaled in right at the ramp going up to the lord… two of us witnessed this hopefully the 2nd person (who was able to get screen shots of them on the portal and running up) will show up to link those shots, saddly mine didn’t take when i died instantly on the portal (as they all came through), i only got ones of them running around outside behind the tower

four times tonight we lost redbriar and Greenlake i would say within about a 20-25 minute span we would see crossed swords there then BANG it was gone and took us a good 5+ minutes to get it back each time, finally on the last time a few stayed behind to capture screen shots of them doing it and see which guild it was (because it is better to say XXX guild with proof than to accuse the whole realm)

And yes i reported all of them that i could for “scamming” nothing else seemed appropriate, also learned that the veteran archers would run over and rez you!!! didn’t know that but it allowed me to get up to the lord room and try to spot them then report any i may of missed ones up there too.

Saddly Anet has not come out and said clearing this is an exploit of the system, but it is pretty clearly NOT intended…
