Hi guys,
Thief was my first character when I joined gw2, but has been covering dust since then. I’m playing mostly a warrior for frontman zerg fights and condi engineer for roaming.
I want to get back with my thief for roaming. I’m playing D/D and I have a lot of trouble surviving. I watched a lot of videos mostly from Yishis, to learn some of the playstyle.
I was wondering if there is a more user-friendly build where I won’t die so often until I start getting good at it. Also, I’m in full berserker.
Thanks for any advice guys.
This forum is full of cry babies and geniuses! To OP, awesome video and build. I tried it today and it was really fun. Though, I went with 3.4k armor, and a bit more power. I did die many times as I couldn’t escape when the zerg came in rushing
To the rest who are moaning about the silliest things ever, who cares if the guy wants to stay and fight? This is a game, and if that’s how he likes to have fun, who are you to judge him? Just chill, everyone likes different things.
Hi guys,
I just hit 80 on my Engi. Im going for pistol/pistol and grenades. What gear should I get? I have over 2000 badges and 50 laurels! Should I go for power/prec/cond dmg?
Thanks in advance
I can’t be bothered with Mesmer anymore. I loved playing condition mesmer and now that confusion is nerfed to the ground the only thing I can run is shatter mesmer, which is too squishy for WvW, unless you’re roaming in a small group and you don’t come against a zerg.
This implies you prefer running with your guild/zerg.
but I hate the fact guardian has no range and can’t tag much.
This implies you’ve never tried Staff on your guardian in zerg v zerg.
I run full Clerics on my Guardian and tag everything with Staff #1. Loot bags galore. You should be able to do even more with full Soldiers.
Lack of range is annoying though, no way around that.
Hi mate,
Yes, I enjoy running with my guild. I like solo roaming too, but since i play mostly at night and it’s usually a zergfest I run with my guild. I tried staff/hammer on guardian last night, and it was really fun. However, after today I am now sure I prefer the warrior over guardian. Even though, I felt the guardian has a bit more survivability. I ran with hammer/longbow with 40% crit in p/v/t gear + a couple of berserker. And it felt more fun cutting through the zerg with the hammer, then switching to longbow and and using combustive shot on downed people. Warrior is so much fun!
I gotta ask OP why not just stick with mesmer for Wv3. I mean I love my warrior but if that your main given ranks etc you should be great on mesmer for WvW. Also since the ranks are by toon not account it is more of a commitment. Not telling you don’t play warrior or anything.
For what you asked. Without knowing your build it is tricky. In this case I will tell you this unless you plan to go full PvT or PvT with knights your not really going to have front line stamina. You Can fake it with a shield but they guys you see with hammers just sitting on the front and not dying aren’t zerker anything.
If you are just going to sit with the zerg and tag might as well stick with what you got. If you are going to go hammer GO HAMMER. full tank CC the front and try not to get eaten.

I have a guardian in full exotic gear p/v/t and now my warrior is fully geared. I like both toons for WvW but I hate the fact guardian has no range and can’t tag much. I though warrior might give me best of both worlds. The ability to tag and get loot, and also be tanky enough to run frontline.
I will try p/v/t trinkets too, to see how that is. Just out of curiosity however, if I go full p/v/t gear how much crit should I have? Right now with zerker trinkets I have 35% crit and fury it goes up to 55%. My hammer crits 2.5k sometimes 3k if I’m lucky.
Thanks Boot, loved the video but I’m more interested in a tankish build, so I don’t instantly die in a zerg fight. I think I’m gonna go with a hammer build, and use a longbow for tagging.
Hi guys,
I just hit 80 with my warrior after playing strictly mesmer for 6 months. I’m only interested in WvW as that’s all I do. I need help with understanding how I can be useful in WvW as a warrior and what weapons to use.
I’m gearing towards P/V/T armor and Zerker trinkets. And I’m having so much fun with the longbow. I also have a sword/warhorn for mobility. I like the idea of the shield reflecting projectiles, but I’m not sure if it’s worth going in as a tank? Or should I get a hammer and run into the zergs?
Any help is greatly appreciated. If i can stick with longbow I’ll be really happy as I love that weapon
