I have a 2011 Macbook pro with 8GB of ram and never have problems updating or launching GW2.

A friend of mine has a 2012 iMac with 4GB of ram and he has had problems updating and launching. I also notice when he is online it takes him over 3 times as long to zone in.

He has had an issue when updating where he goes blank and does not update, he used time machine to roll back to a earlier version and then the update worked.

This may not be an option for you but upgrading to 8GB of ram will make the game noticeably faster and more stable.

Yep, 8 Leagues just might work.

In fact, you could even call them “tiers”.

Sounds like a great idea. This will achieve the most stable and even match ups.
