Since my thoughts are 800 posts down. I’ll just say it here I agree.
How on earth is CD and YAK’s large numbers being justified against SE and DH? It’s like 3 and 4 to 1 odds most of the time…it’s ridiculous, I love WvW but it’s been downgraded to pure frustration. I’m about done tagging and about to say later to it all.

WvW Purpose, Magnetism, Solution?

1. To have fun in a challenging but possible environment. Its the purpose of any game.
WvW has the potential to be SO much fun! the maps, keeps, siege and strat are in place and beautiful, but right now wasted engineering/art.

2. A small population sometimes, but on average all the time vs a large one isn’t fun.

3. It’s neither a challenge for the small or the large populated server so the larger populated server/tier should also have an issue with it being too easy, but being that it is an ego booster to zerg over tiny populated opposition its emotional math; human psychology will fool oneself into justifying things as they are, we all know it’s true.

4. Great players on small populated teams only goes so far vs blobs 2-3 times their teams size so that’s not a good excuse for the imbalanced linking we have going on. Primarily (but not exclusively) those saying man up you smaller tier vs large ones are on the large one… oooh be honest lol

POSSIBLE SOLUTION/s:
1. Merge servers into larger pools under Color’s or non-cheesy name’s that several collective servers play for BUT
1a) Your server still gets pie chart points for a servers residents participation.
(Just a thought, maybe that’s not realistic, I don’t know)

INCENTIVE is VERY attractive, even “MAGNETIC”
2. Award individual’s for participation in WvW beyond a billion bags that create a grind in and of themselves to open and store (often running out of space!) it takes away from the action with all the clicking and clicking and clicking and… (mouse button needs repair)

*perhaps a track toward something REALLY attractive such as an ascended item that one can choose stats for instead of random ones, legendary or some super cool skin. Just a straight up track reward not something you have to make but rather choose from a list or something.

Could go on but wanted to offer something instead of a simple I’m PO’ed about WvW, folks are frustrated, a lot of them, and negativity is a sickness and I would like WvW and gw in general to get out of the hospital.

P.S. I’m assuming Anet is on it! So in advance I appreciate any positive efforts past and present to rectify things, we only hope its around a corner not too distant future.

Guild Wars/AreaNet has made a bit of a name for itself for “listening to the players” I think perhaps AN still is but ‘perhaps’ got out of order (in my opinion, if you care lol)

Phase 1: Would be to make a huge effort to inform the players about messing with the WP in dungeons, perhaps you did and I just missed it, but I missed any huge announcement.

Phase 2: Collect the info which would lead to understanding the ACTUAL gravity of the patch effect and player synergy from the point of the hardcore and casual. It’s not best for PR to just go ahead and do something like this. Otherwise your reverting to the things you and other players didn’t like in other games. Of course there are those that just say ok whatever…but those are the minority, and it is about the number of people who enjoy or do not enjoy the game.

Phase 3: Make a balanced change at the same time as the first one, just wait if you can’t, and not implement Phase 2 and then watch as Phase 1 plays out on the forums with a bunch of obviously already frustrated people, BUT YET still on the level of toleration WITH still being able to WP.

It’s just a thought based on reading this and other threads on the subject. Not sure it will be considered or is even relevant, as I don’t work at AN and I’m sure there are intangibles in the game creation “war room” that we all are unaware of.

To error is human by game designer and game player, but always can be adjusted with the right attitude.

Granted there are dumb things to complain about but really, this is not one of them.
Please…make it (Karma) refundable. I can refund with that little reverse arrow thingy other items but not Karma items?
You can imagine how players feel about it, so I don’t get this non refunding karma deal.
Why?
It’s discouraging for the amount of time it takes to build karma regardless if it’s a stupid mistake, hours of working toward karma gains only to have it wasted on a wrong click. Common now lol
Some slack please, a game that favors the players goes A LONG way as we know your already aware of, this issue doesn’t. ~Thanks much.

I have used the first two books, and just recently clicked on the Grand Master book.
80 level Thief.
Grand Master skills are still locked.
Frustrating.
