Guild Wars 2

I’m in mostly exotics that give precision/toughness/condition dmg. I run staff/greatsword. I’ve been able to take down champion mobs in Cursed Shore solo, defeat packs of 5-6 enemies at a time without getting downed, and solo WvW camps with no pressure. Having a ton of crit and sharper images means even your greatsword clones can keep 15-20 bleed stacks on an enemy if not more, so PvE bosses feel the pain.

I don’t think pvp is worth talking about seeing as we all know how annoying it can be to fight a mesmer.

Anyone know why sometimes my action bar gets a blue/purple flame like mist above it? I have no idea what it means.

So, my Mesmer is in the 40’s now. I feel like I have a good idea of how the Mesmer plays at this point. I’ve tried a dozen builds in the mists and can’t find any that make me feel like I’m anything more than a chaos field twice a minute robot. Pretty much every weapon has at least one lame skill that either requires me to block or overrides my phantasms with clones that deal 0 dmg.

Shattering sounded cool on the char creation page, but in practice it just has me blowing up my already mostly useless clones/phants for mediocre “burst”. I think I’m regretting putting the effort into this character. I’m calling it Mesmorse. I will play him to 80 so I can at least have an end game farming character, but I hope he gets some changes inc so I feel like I’m more than just an afterthought on the battlefield.

Hmm. all other chars get 10 skills across 2 weapon sets. The elementalist gets 20 skills for 1 weapon set. Doesn’t that give you 2x the tools at your disposal? Trouble juggling 4 attunements?

As a mesmer, I am on the level 36 story quest and am level 25. Typically I just keep sending clones at the enemies while my teammates do the real killing. The quest with the pirates on the beach broke all my armor, but I finally chipped away at them 1 by 1 till I completed it. Next quest is in the next zone so I have to finish this map before continuing.

Sounds like its almost better to focus on conditiondmg+ and equip staff and hope you get bleeds and burns with winds of chaos. Chaos field when you can and run alot. I haven’t played in a few days. Did the hp on clones get nerfed?

The real purpose of illusions is to be shattered. They’re the opposite of a tanking pet and I don’t mind that they get nuked. I typically shatter them at 2 illusions anyways. The only diffference I’ve noticed with mesmer is that even small fights require tactics. There’s no mesmer faceroll. You maybe charge a mantra, mirror image, chaos field, shoot a few times, shatter, clone, swap weps, illusionary zerker, snare, use mantra, invisible cloak clone, maybe chaos shield or another chaos field. Great! That centaur is dead!
