on my 2010 mac pro i get this error.

im going to guess its video card related.

I personally believe they are still working on hacked accounts from the end of august.

A note to those posting about recently stolen accounts….

You are in for a long and horrible ride. riddled with lack of updates and much frustration. The support team is too busy to keep their customers updated or give any kind of eta..

Please be patient. You will need a LARGE dose of patients. I thought I would have to wait 3-5 days…. looks like in reality your wait is 8-10 days. Im on day 6… getting close i think …..

Sad for you =( IM so very sorry this happend to you. be patient. be patient. and then when you think you have been patient… be even more patient.

Idk why they dont just come out and tell people “we have 3 support staff, 20,000 tickets, it will be 2 weeks to resolve your ticket and get you into the game”

Maybe that would cut down a lot on the moaning and crying in the forum.

you are lucky. Ive been waiting since the third. I FINALY get a response today.

THey didnt even read my ticket and sent me generic copy and paste email with a link to reset my password! This does not help me because the person who stole my account changed my email not my password. and they probly deleted my characters.

Im so frustrated at this point..

I do not understand why they are so understaffed.

Loved the comic. Its so spot on.

I admit to being one of those password resusers. Tho I reuse a handful. not just one.

after rescent events…..

I have definitely learned my lesson on that.

You just never think it could happen to you. I guess im too trusting of some people..

To those who think getting a account hacked is the victims own fault ….

I have this to say.

Arena net security is flawed.

My privacy was jeapordized one time.
That was a little over a year ago when there was a trifle of malicious android apps on the android market. They stole about 4 million peoples gmail account info and sent it to china.

gmail was nice enough to tell me that my account was being accessed from chinese ip’s…. Imedietly changed my passwords to every account even remotely tied to my email adress.. and never had a problem until now.

Its no wonder all these “hackers” are coming from china.

Any way. Yes i made the mistake of using that old password.

But still .. why did none of my other accounts get stolen when it was attempted right after my gw account was stolen?

because with my other accounts.. I get an email saying I have to confirm changes etc.

because with other accounts, they lock acess from unverified ip adresses..

also authenticator tools.

even a phone number helps.

so many ways to beef up security. anet should have had the foresight to plan better security..

anet has close to zero security. and to top it off, the support staff can not keep up with the amount of tickets.

something has to give.

I understand a lot of mmos get targeted.

I understand the krew is working around the clock to resolve these issues…

I understand I made a huge mistake using a old password. and not a unique. one. This mistake alone should not cost me my account where other accounts (though attempted) were not stolen.

But anet needs to work on security.

Why even let chinese ip’s come into the servers in the first place? they should be blocked.. Block them from the website all together. Most of them are farmers anyway… Is the game even available in china…

How many peoples accounts have been hacked?
How many of these people own android phones i wonder.?

In the aftermath of all this hacking of accounts. I have to seriously wonder….

Was it anet that has been hacked?

How are they so sure it was all these individuals were each individually targeted.

Thats a pretty big endeavor..

Or you could just steal account information directly from anet servers…..

Their account security measures are so weak.. would their web servers be as vulnerable as our accounts?

I hope to actually get a response from anet this time.

note: I am a understanding and thoughtfull person, just running out of patients. i have learned one valuable lesson in all this.. use a strong 100% unique password for all online accounts….

These Chinese hackers are no joke….

Using a freeware password generator and good old pen and paper.
changing all passwords..

Atleast I have SOMETHING to do while I wait for over worked anet to help me out and get me back in the game…

after all if you get hacked. its your own fault right?

I thank anet for everything they are doing.
I thank the community for being so patient.

I do not thank ncsoft for being cheap and not throwing the needed resources at the problem to put the fires out, not to mention lack of preparedness.

lets try this again. still no response from anet. If you update a ticket with info does that mean it gets put back at the bottom of the stack…. I think so.
