I think we all need to make room in the world for content we don’t like. We need to accept, deep-down, that we will like some parts much more than other parts—and that the game will sometimes be set up to reward participating in those areas we don’t like!
This isn’t me being harsh or like, “GO TO ANOTHER ZONE,” but GW2 is a compromise between millions and millions of players. I think we all wish that Activity A was more like Activity B sometimes, but there are players who love Activity A and they deserve to have it in their game.
I get the impression that the addition of more vistas, skill points, etc may be an outcome of this month’s events. More locations and features are being constructed throughout.
It seems like this is sound from a development perspective:
1. Open the zone with “low stakes,” as an add-on
2. Wait several months to collect user experience data and bug reports
3. Fix the bugs
4. Use overall user experience and reactions to bridge that final gap into real content
That way, by the time the zone “counts,” it has already been thoroughly vetted by your users. The last thing they’d want is to have untested content required for world completion.
