Gear Inspection is a disease that needs to be left within the rotting carcass of WoW.

May that mechanic never find its way into GW2.

Happy to Give $60 worth of Expansion Money

For the following:

  • A new region or continent to explore….
  • With a new set of maps….
  • And a new storyline running through them.
  • A new playable race or two
  • Maybe a new profession?
  • Guild Halls
  • Alliance Battle style pvp (my favorite form of pvp from GW1)

I realize that eventually we may see the above things through living story. Basically, they will be trickled out, in dribs and drabs, over time.

I guess I will buy $40-$60 worth of gems a year or two from now when that process is finished?

I have come to terms with the fact that I will never again have the “Christmas Morning” feeling that I had when Factions came out, for example, and that I will just learn to deal with living story. That’s fine. Lack of excitement is ok.

I do want to thank Anet for the following additions since launch:

  • LFG tool. (Now that I don’t need it, it’s finally in the game.)
  • Southsun Cove map (more beautiful maps like this please!)
  • SAB (totally unexpected and awesome addition to game)

So GW2 didn't get the 1 mil likes!

Did you recommend the game for your friends to give a like ? I didn’t because Is not a game worth buying anymore.

The game is larger, more functional, far less buggy, more optimized, more balanced, and offers more play options now than it did after launch.

Why would GW2 possibly be a game not worth buying “anymore” as opposed to previously?

It is of course a different story if you just don’t like the game and are not playing anymore. But that begs the questions: Why are you still trolling on the GW2 forums? Shouldn’t you be playing a superior game right now? One that you can recommend to your friends?

As far as the 1M likes, I don’t do Facebook.

Map Completion and WvW

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

aside from the lag issues in WvW (this affects me too, and is one of the reasons I don’t enjoy WvW much), I strongly feel that map completion for WvW should be restricted to Eternal Battlegrounds and the home Borderlands only.

Requiring players to repeat the same mirrored map 2 more times is boring and frustrating. It offers no sense of exploration or accomplishment. Also, if you are on a weakly populated server or one that doesn’t do well in WvW, good luck getting some of those POI’s/vistas. It’s a system that punishes people just for picking a server.

I’ve gotten 100% world completion already but fully support removing opposing borderlands maps from the requirement, or just changing the WvW reqs in general for map completion.

Black Lion window scaling problem

Problem since beta. Not being addressed, don’t expect it to anytime soon. Like so many other bugs one has to assume that it’s just not considered high priority.

I’ve played the game for months now in the “normal” setting (overlapping panes, scrolling, oversized UI and all) because of this issue with garbled text in the BLTC.

What's your favourite Jumping Puzzle?

More challenges like Obsidian Sanctum and Scavenger’s Chasm please

Translation: long, complex, interesting mechanics added, non-linear, NON-TIMED.

Something magical about walking into a beautiful JP and having absolutely no frickin idea about what you are supposed to do, or where to go, just have to noodle it out.

I greatly prefer this type of challenge as opposed to the timed mechanic, which just means that I won’t be able to complete the JP at all (read: Clock Tower, Wintersday, Griffonrook Run).

game needs an expansion.
most who have been playing since beta have already moved on and pop in for a day or two (maybe) for living story stuff.

T3 Cultural armors - why so expensive?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

The T3 skins are too expensive for me to even consider purchasing an entire set.

119 gold? I could buy a precursor for that.

It’s a shame because I do like some of the t3 sets. Alas, I shall never own one.

DR? (Diminished Returns)

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: holotype.1643

holotype.1643

People rarely comment when something is working properly, and usually only bring things up in a positive light if there is a discussion about it and they feel provoked to do as such.
For instance, we recently made it possible to join and reconnect in fractals. Prior to that patch there would be a new thread nearly every other day about how bad fractals were because of disconnects, and those threads would be the most popular. But since fixing it there hasn’t been a single thread about it, or any comments. It’s just the general nature of people to happily enjoy things instead of taking the time out of enjoying something to exclaim that you are enjoying something.

Robert, first off, thank you and your teammates for this amazing game. In my opinion, it’s superior to every MMO currently running.

To your point: people rarely praise things when they are working fine because they expect it to work fine in the first place, especially if it’s an Anet product.

A person pays $60K for an awesome new car. Powerful engine, rich corinthian leather inside, Ricardo Montalban sitting in the back seat.
…but the windshield wipers and AC don’t work.

New car owner takes it back to the dealer, only for the dealer to say: “Geez, you complain and complain about this broken stuff but where’s the praise?” It’s a ridiculous and insulting comment.

The unfixed, unattended-to bugs that have been in this game since beta, the lack of a groupfinder tool for dungeons, the punishing. group-destroying issues with Fractals that have only now been addressed and should have launched with Fractals…these things are maddening.

Dailies - the bane of modern games

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: holotype.1643

holotype.1643

regardless of whether you like dailies or not, or if you like GW2’s implementation of them (vs WoW’s for example), they are surely not required.

Sometimes when I log in I don’t get all of the requirements done for the daily, and I log out without worry.

Other times, the daily gives me something to do in addition to guild activity or dungeons or farming.

It’s a complimentary feature and I bet most players appreciate the option.
