Flailing for all of the maces, please!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to ask why there are Fleshreavers in Lionshead Outcrops of Brisban Wildlands.

I am asking because lore-wise, Fleshreavers appear due to summoning or through underworld portals. Some of the more powerful Fleshreavers seem to appear in ancient tombs. Quoting the Veteran Fleshreaver wiki:

They can be encountered spawning from underworld portals on various places around Godslost Swamp, usually triggered by reading magical books of unknown origin. One such example is the norn necromancer in Deathroot Shack. They can also be found in the wild, such as in a canyon in Lionshead Outcrops.

It seems that you can find Fleshreavers out in the wild at Lionshead Outcrops and nowhere else. There doesn’t seem to be any indication of a summoning or underworld portal. Why is that?

I would also like to be a student, mostly to learn Arah paths. I play on NA.

I’ve had the same problem for three days now, albeit after many tries I gradually worked down from 12 files left to just the one, but still didn’t get past that and remained stuck at 0%.

Just now, I managed to download it an instant by using a different network. I personally couldn’t reach any other WiFi networks nearby, so I used my phone as a hotspot and bam – it worked right away.

Edit 2: I tried tethering my phone and started the launcher using my mobile internet. It worked. I can play again.

I have the same problem. Am stuck on 3 files left.

Shouldn’t the problem be easy to isolate if you could pull the list of changes made to the launcher code in the last patch?

Yes that is what I did. Did you try that? And if you did, did that fix the problem for you? I’m still stuck at 3 files left.

I have the same problem as you, except for me it stopped at 4 files. I created a shortcut to perform the launcher’s repair option. That seems to have resumed the download but now it stops at 3 files. I’m running the repair again to see if it will start progressing… Hopefully it won’t be one repair per file as the repair process takes a long time.

Did your friend receive the ‘Thank you for submitting a request’ automated response? If so, his ticket will be answered once it works its way through the queue.

If not, have him peruse the Stickies at the top of the page.

If after 72-96 hours, there is no response from a CS Team member, you can post his ticket number in the Sticky, ‘Tickets for Review’.

My friend is a new player too and had the same thing happen to him. Did your friends ban message say a time frame of the ban? My friend’s didn’t and I’ve been reading that its some kind of bug. It’s been almost a week now and nothings been done. I think that most people would like to know why they were ban but it seems rarely do they say the reason, which is kind of ridiculous as you can’t fix what you don’t know. There definitely needs to be more transparency with these procedures.

This is worrisome. I hope the issue gets resolved soon. They did pay for this game after all, and all this isn’t helping give the game a positive image.

There is actually a stick about the “Account blocked due to unacceptable behavior.” message. I suggest you read it. It clearly stated that all suspensions were receiving it in error and they were working to fix it, but yes, people do know what they did wrong. It’s easy, don’t be a jerk, don’t use foul language, and don’t cheat. Your friend might “claim” they did nothing wrong, but most of the time, when they are banned, they usually are in the wrong. Check out many of the posts in these forums of people claiming they did nothing wrong. An Anet rep has come in going “Well, you actually did this” as their proof.

Yes I did read it. It would be great to know that he actually did something though (also, what he did, exactly), because that means his ban might get lifted very soon and he can simply behave better next time. Unfortunately, the response he got from support was an escalation instead of a straight “this is actually what you did, hence the ban” (or maybe that’ll come with the escalation). It’s all the mystery behind the blocking itself that makes it unpalatable.

My friend is unable to play because he gets the following error when attempting to log-in: “Account blocked due to unacceptable behavior.” He’s a new player and he says he hasn’t done anything outrageous or ban-worthy so far.

He has submitted ticket number 976276 with no response so far, but it would be great if he either knew the reason why he is being blocked, or if this was some mistake.

I just played through the Dragon’s Reach Part 2, and I did it as my very first character – my Sylvari elementalist. I am quite fond of Sylvari so I decided to pursue the Living World storyline as one. Little did I know that my Sylvari is the most callous, uncaring, non-Soundless Syvari ever. Consider the following:

1. My mother just got beaten up by a giant plant dragon and she conks out in front of me. The first thing I do? Check on the other leaders.
2. Rox pointed out that I wasn’t looking too good. Initially, I thought: “Oh here, this is the point where my Sylvari character expresses grief at the harm that the Pale Tree suffered”. How wrong I was. Apparently, my character was just confused over the trippy vision that the Pale Tree gave me.
3. Trahearne expressed more grief about what just happened more than my character did.
4. Taimi expressed more concern over the Pale Tree’s well being than my character did.

I’m quite disappointed over the dialogue options I had as a Sylvari. It made me feel so detached from what was happening. My character should have felt like crap right there and then at the sight of the Avatar of the Pale Tree lying on the ground, but my character just shrugged it off. A Nightmare Courtier would have expressed more emotion over the event (they’d be ecstatic)!

I think the disconnect that I am feeling here is that if I were Sylvari, I would have FREAKED OUT. Or at least been a bit more shaken.

Also, where the heck was Caithe after the dragon attacked (she was there when the leaders were coming into the summit)? Wasn’t she my mentor? Why did I get the whole Wyld Hunt chat from Trahearne instead?

EDIT: To be clear, I liked Dragon’s Reach Part 2. I just wish my character reacted more like a Sylvari would have.

Are there any plans for deploying servers for Asia (that aren’t exclusively for the China)? Ping from my country is around 250ms at best, so I’m thinking maybe having servers closer to home would decrease latency.

My friend wants to purchase three copies of the game (one for himself and two of our friends) while the game is on sale. However, he is unable to purchase the game at all. His first attempt was via Paypal, and although he got the invoice, the transaction did not reflect in Paypal nor did he get the activation code email. His second attempt was through credit card directly, at which point the purchase failed. His third attempt was with a different credit card, and even that attempt failed. Is anyone else having this problem? Is this a known issue?
