The real point is:
Who cares WHY it’s happening, it shouldn’t be and Anet should fix it.
Better drop rates don’t matter if you aren’t able to do the events.
Non peak/late hours.. that’s not particularly helpful.
That may very well be the case, but unfortunately I can’t change my work hours to a grave yard shift or something just to do events. Being stuck into Overflow every time an event is due.. yeah no.
As cool as Queensdale overflow is, that is.
Seriously.
And that’s beyond the fact that now since chests are once per day there’s so many people every time something spawns that it makes my framerate in huge WvW battles look spectacular.
You guys have ruined events with this nonsense; they were laggy enough before without having to cope with full to the brim zones and being unable to even take part.
I have a briefer evaluation:
Crap.
Hey guys,
kirito: Clean install of Windows will be my next step, although I’m running on a 3 or 4 week old install as it is. If I can’t figure anything else out before then, I’ll do that. It’s a pain the butt though
Ethics: I’m running via ethernet, no wireless. I’ve removed all my USB devices other than my mouse and keyboard and xbox controller. (I don’t leave stuff plugged in generally)
Since the latest patch, I have been having random crashes when playing GW2. This happens anywhere after 2 minutes of playing, or an hour.
When it crashes, my sound makes a pop/crackling sound and the game locks up and then my entire computer crashes. forcing me to hit the power button to reboot.
The crashes don’t seem to generate a log / crash report, although one time it did show the “Report this crash” window and the details showed something about “AuReverb.cpp(704)”. It then crashed while attempting to submit the report.
I have no issues in any other games, and GW2 ran perfectly prior to playing after the most recent patch.
My system specs are as follows:
AMD Phenom 965 cpu
8gb G.Skill DDR3
nVidia GTX 560TI 1gb
Realtek HD onboard audio
Win7 64bit SP1
All latest drivers and windows updates.
I have done the following to attempt to fix this:
Uninstalled and reinstalled audio and video drivers
Reinstalled DirectX
Scan disk / defragged
Spyware/Virus scan
Ran GW2 with -repair option
Ran GW2 with -nosound option, still crashed although it seemed to take a long time?
MSCONFIG and disabled all startup items
Ran Memtest and Prime95, both with no errors
Deleted the GW2 folder in My Games and re-set up all in game options
Turned all the video and sound options down to lowest settings
Tried using an old SB Audigy instead of the Realtek onboard
Nothing has helped
Any ideas? I can’t do dungeons or events, since I just end up crashing mid-way thru it.
