Saw a new hack yesterday.

I was watching a ranger bot and his bear in Metrica (Jade Quarry) teleporting from mob to mob. I tried clicking on him to report him…couldn’t. He was unclickable. Somehow they have hacked that now too.

We need another way of reporting them if this becomes their new thing.

I was exploring the Metrica Province today in Jade Quarry and saw a ranger bot using the teleport hack, warping from place to place.

The unusual thing with this one is that when I tried to click on it to bring up the portrait and report him through that, he was unclickable. I followed him and tried multiple times and I clicked on the player several times and it was like he wasn’t even there.

It seems like a new hack to get around the normal way to report bots. Now that they have hacked that too, we need a new way to repor… unless there is some other way I’m not aware of.

I’m just curious. I’ve seen them several places: Guardians using a scepter + torch spamming autoattack at nothing in particular and then teleporting from one mob to another… seems like a “super enhanced” Judge’s Intervention that teleports much farther than 1200 and they seem to trigger it more often than you should be able to, even traited.

Not condoning bot-farming by any means but it seems everyone of them I see is a guardian with the same exact build and behavior.

I have an 80 Guardian myself but with a 2-HD Greatsword/Staff build. Still mostly a noob though so I’m not all that familiar with scepter/torch builds.

Any guesses?

Personally, I think this kind of stuff shouldn’t be allowed. I have no problem with a massive amount of people going from event to event, “farming” it for exp or gold, but standing AFK and AOEing on a spot for hours, probably using a bot to do so, shouldn’t be allowed. Like you said, it ruins the game for others who wish to participate in the event, and in the end, it’ll most likely make them just give in and join with the afkers. It gives that “Well, they’re doing it, so I might as well too” kind of mindset.

I agree. Nothing wrong with “chasing” DEs, actively playing them, or running to known champion chest events when you hear it’s started. That’s playing the game.

Of the 30 or so I saw last night exploiting that one DE in Kessex Hills I’d say about 20 were botting using a macro or script—either keeping an eye on the screen or not. The other 10 were moving a bit so it was either a more sophisticated macro or, as you said, the “can’t beat them, join them” crowd.

You do realize there is only one lvl 80 zone correct and most of the DEs chain in a pretty small area?

Farming may technically be within the TOS and unbannable but it’s still a big annoyance to anyone trying to play the game as intended.

30 people standing on top of one another, spamming AOEs at the spot where the centaurs will pop at the NW broken Kessex Hills Bridge means that anyone coming by wanting to play that DE will have a tough time tagging enough mobs before they’re dead to get gold medal credit or even a reasonable number of drops.

In other ways, they ruin the game for anyone trying to play it as intended and developed. Farming, when it comes right down to it, is selfish anti-social behavior. Weird how many people are OK with defending it as if it were just one of many different play styles of equal value to all other ways of playing the game.

A better one-liner might be: “learn to play nice with others in multiplayer games.”

Some people are kittening about the more stringent diminishing returns implementation affecting the innocent… I’m sure we’ll get a properly tuned version eventually but DE spawn camping (and wide-open botting them…NW Kessex Hills bridge, I’m looking at you) has gotten to the outrageous point.

I normally pick an RP server in MMOs, not because I RP but rather because exploiting kittentery is ussually a bit less there. No such choice here but if there were a server designated as having a quick banhammer for exploiters, I’d move there in a second to… you know…play the game?

By “flicker” I don’t mean low-FPS choppiness—just a randomly occuring white flicker that happens once in a while. My FPS are great…just have this little glitch. Anyone else? Workarounds?

Not a bad solution but there s a much easier way to disable CPU core parking without a registry edit: just choose the “Performance Power Plan” under power settings. That disables core parking.
