Ok this is driving me nuts. As of yesterday, whenever I so much as attempt to run GW2, my entire system freezes up and forces me to hard reboot. This is the only game that it happens in, and it only started happening yesterday. I had no issues playing two days ago.
Since then, I have had no windows updates installed and nothing new installed on the system, and the computer has no problems running higher demanding games on highest settings, so I don’t think it’s a video card issue. I ran a chkdsk, uninstalled and reinstalled GW2 and still nothings changed.
At most, I can get to the character select screen but freeze up in loading into Lions Arch/Character Creation, and then once it freezes up there once, I can’t even load into the game.
Same thing happens if I try to run a repair, it will start to run the repair tool and then will stop and the entire system will freeze up and require a hard reboot.
No error message to give, as it just freezes up and theres no log of it in my documents GW2 folder. Checked the GPU/CPU when running it before it freezes and the temp is normal, so it’s not an overheating issue either, and the CPU usage at loading before the freeze was at 70-80% on 16 GB RAM.
This is really starting to get irritating, and it seems like there are other people with similar issues and still no solution.
EDIT 1: With only GW2, Chrome and Skype open, my CPU usage didnt peak any higher than 40%, so it’s definitely not a memory issue.
