the same problem here. I think windoze 8.1 is not so compatible with this game.
So I’m playing along on a new human ranger, killing spiders when my screen freezes. Total freeze, no movement at all. The music is still going though. I try to alt f4, alt tab, ctrl escape, nothing works. Hit the power button to put it into sleep mode, then try to log back in. The game is still running in the background but I can’t bring it up. The music is still playing, however, and my cursor is disappearing randomly. I can right click and see the option to Close, but using it does nothing. Task Manager can’t seem to close it either, and in fact doesn’t seem to respond to my clicks. I log out of my windows profile, and the game closes. I try playing again, and get the same error maybe ten minutes in.
Has anyone seen this odd occurrence before?
Processor: Intel Core i7-4700hq 2.4 gigahertz
24 gigs RAM
Windows 8.1 64 bit
Nvidia Geforce GTX 860M
same problem, worse since i installwd windoze 8.1 because task manager freezes with it. I have great hardware, and EVERYTHING software related (pgms, drivers, etc) is up to date.
I can play for hrs at times then the critter locks up. have to reboot. I also get memory access errors, but that is on seperate occaisions. The only thing i havent replaced is ram, though that never fails ram tests.
I have typically been experiencing screen freezes that lock up the client or the client crashes. I am running good hardware but only gw2 gives me problems.
Since i switched over to windows 8.1 from windows 7, the task manager locks up. also, I have a 64 bit machine and it lists the game as a 32 bit client
I have a 3 ghz phenom quad core processor, 4gb ram, a gtx650 video card carrying 2 gig of ddr5 ram, and a good broadband connection. performance should not be an issue, but it is.
I can play for hours with no problem at times, but other times the client crashes or locks up. I even recently re-downloaded the whole client. I wish on downloading it would let me know which version download i got but it simply starts without specifying.
