The mats will absolutely drop in WvW. In addition, generally speaking, we are putting a heavier emphasis on finding long-term solutions to redressing the reward imbalance between PvE and WvW. I can’t claim they will ever be 100% equal all the time, but we would like it to never be the case that you are choosing between playing WvW and getting good rewards. The two should be one in the same.

Upgrade the rank chests to include one guaranteed rare like world boss chests, and hook us up with dungeon tokens from rank/champion chests and random drops so we can get our cool-looking armor and legendaries without grinding PvE content. Or at least let us buy tokens with badges of honor if that’s easier to implement. That’d be a good start.

Then add some more cool finishers to the gem store so we have something to throw money at.

Better yet, just make WvW exclusive armor and weapon skins. This will still make WvWers go to PvE if they want current (and future) PvE gear, and it will promote PvEers to go into WvW if they want that gear.
There are two amazing aspects to this game, and one is lacking right now. The devs don’t have to choose one over the other if they just use both to play off each other.

Commander Leveling System

I feel like a separate (or within WXP) leveling system for commanders could potentially help in two very important ways:

1. First and foremost, we’d be able to weed out the people that buy commander tags and just sit in WvW doing nothing. If everyone could see what level a commander is at, they would know who was experienced.

2. COLORS! I’ve heard this complaint/suggestion a million times. Here’s how to make it happen: Every few levels (or even every level) a commander achieves, the color of their commander tag changes. This is an easy way to see what level a commander is at and also keep track of the different commanders on the map.

The way I thought to do this would be simply to gain experience points when the commander captures anything on the map… BUT you get an exceptional increase in points for every player you have in your squad, thus helping promote squad mentality that is very lacking, while at the same time making commanders who are good (i.e., those that can actually command a following) show their experience through leveling faster. The squad bonus would shut out commanders who only follow around other commanders with their tag up from leveling off of others’ achievements.

Now, potential problems. This could pose to make it more difficult for new commanders to gain a following. That would definitely have to be a factor in creating a way to do this. We need a way to both show experienced commanders on the map while also helping new commanders we truly wish to command make their mark and level up.

Just a few thoughts of my own, obviously not a perfect idea. Any more suggestions to make it better?
