If you’re having to make up hyperbolic examples about 1 million damage attacks to make you’re point then that point probably isn’t much good. I think the point the OP is trying to make is that Anet have got all these complex and fancy systems in place to deal with potential problems, like the drop rate stuff, and there’s no transparency, they don’t explain what they do or how. They make changes and they don’t explain why. It feels like they’ve got a load of people poring over statistics to make everything run to some ideal, but they aren’t explaining what that ideal is. Maybe its just poor communication, they release patch notes but theres never many devs on the forums actaully explaining the reasoning behind changes.

Third, please, please change the twins part of the sylvari story to give me the option of slapping Arlon. From the moment he’s introduced he seems to be treated as comic relief, a bit brash but his heart’s in the right place, but within in a couple of missions he’s burnt all a frightened Hylek traders goods to get her to talk, then suggested wiping out an entire Hylek tribe to avoid the risk of people getting hurt. Then the end of the storyline suggests that he’s learnt his lesson, and that lesson was not being so impetuous. Admitedly the guys supposed to be young, but the storyline is trying to frame me as a noble hero for a good race, yet I’m sent to work with a thug with a history of violence who casually suggests genocide as a solution to a problem and no one sees this as an issue. But the fact that he’d rush in without planning it properly apparently is.
I know this is an MMO, so mass murder is always the order of the day, but at least try and be subtle about it in cutscenes if you’re trying to pretend I’m on the side of good. There needs to be an option in one of those missions to give him a punch in the teeth. Rant over.
