[Suggestions] Gemstore Items

I posted these over on https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestions-Quality-of-Life-Changes as well, but they are good ideas for the gemstore, so I’ll double post. If a mod thinks that’s a bad thing, please remove this post and let me know why. Thanks.

  • Infinite Gathering tool skins. Let me buy skins so I could change my Chop-it-all Logging Axe into a Cosmic Logging tool. I love all the different animations you’ve come up with, but I really can’t afford to buy every single tool.
  • Infinite Gathering tool upgrade/mods. You just released the Unbound magic tools, and I’ve used the frostbitten ones as well. Getting unbound magic or snowflakes, or whatever, every time you gather is a good idea. But it would be better if I could apply a mod to my infinite gathering tools to get whatever effect I want.
  • Give us a Boost Box. I have a ton of boosts, like the Celebration Booster, sitting around in my bank than never get used. A boosts box that all account characters can access would be very helpful.

  • As many many others have commented, a keyring is needed for all the keys we have to carry around in HoT now. This is especially important if any new key types are going to be added in Path of Fire. Please make sure the keyring works for all types of keys, and is account wide.
  • Give us more ways to organize our banks. Or, maybe, just an easier way to filter than the search box. Maybe something like what the Black Lion Trading Company UI has?
  • Give us a Boost Box. I have a ton of boosts, like the Celebration Booster, sitting around in my bank than never get used. A boosts box that all account characters can access would be very helpful.
  • Let Food based buffs stack.
  • Show, in some manner, what kind of buff a tray of <insert food here> will give you before you use it. Same similar kinds of buffing items.
  • Let us turn on an “Explore” mode. When leveling a character, if you can’t do the next story mission, the compass shows you the nearest waypoint, POI, viewpoint, etc. There are times I’d like to just turn that on, even if the next story is available. Especially when I’m trying to get world completion on a character.
  • Let us turn off the story compass entirely. I have one character that is never going to do the story, but he always has the “Meed Quinn at the apothecary” text and green start visible. It’s annoying.

  • Implement a feature request site. Like feedback.discordapp.com This topic is super long, impossible to read it all, and I have no idea how well the search really works. It certainly didn’t find anything like what I’m suggesting. A feature request site would let users vote on popular ideas. As well as let developers tell people why something is a terrible idea or that it’s being worked on.

Why are crafted backpacks account bound?

Hmm… I can see that as explaining why they’re account bound. But I still don’t get why you can’t salvage them.

Heck, what’s the reasoning behind making anything unsalvagable? It seems rather arbitrary to me. Would there be a negative effect on the in game economy if I salvaged my items?

I was just leveling up my crafting, and ended up with a whole bunch of backpacks since they were some of the only things left that gave xp. I figured I could just salvage or sell them. But I can’t do either…

So, what is the reasoning behind making backpacks account bound? And unsalvagable? Are there any suggestions on how to do something constructive with my extra backpacks?
