What made it feel weird is there was no communication with ANet at all. They just changed our name without warning; it was a complete surprise

Our guild named Potentially Offensive [POOF] was subjected to a random name change to Abracadabra Alakazam [POOF]. We all noticed it last night and are deeply affected by what has happened. This is because we are proud of what certain members have done, appearing together in a picture with Colin Johanson on the Guild Wars 2 twitter from PAX . We are just asking why our guild name was changed to something completely random as the name itself was not offensive in any way (only potentially). My co-leader Afro Dude.8423 has created a placeholder guild so the name will not be stolen.

It definitely takes time to master the ele, being able to take on multiple opponents is a great skill of D/D imo. Timing dodges though and memorising cooldowns that you can’t see (because they’re in different attunements) is key to the ele and requires more thought than a simple rotation, like some people might tell you. And the way you sound like I think D/D ele is your style as it allows a good mobility, despite the nerfs. Not quite as good as thieves but adequate. I suggest building either a PTV set first, mixing in some Knight’s then Zerker if you want that extra damage! Anyway post again if you want any builds, sure the ele community would be happy to help :P

I have been playing ele for far too long now (since head start -_- I just love personal punishment) and picking up this new trait has felt really refreshing. It adds a new meaning to those interrupts on focus and OH dagger. I think a build of 0/6/4/4/0 would work nicely. D/F in my opinion would work better for wvw and pvp as there is more defence on dagger but sceptre in pve for that extra damage. Also using that trait that gives bonus crit damage when using an arcane skill would work nicely as that would cause the bolt from the trait to crit for lots more. Focus is better IMO as people have said before the interrupts are ranged and harder to predict. Blinding ashes are in my complete personal opinion are not worth it as the cd is a little long for how I would prefer to use it, but in the right hands I think t could work with careful management!

The Good:
- Ele staff changes, definitely see the benefits
-Conditions are much easier to track, you can now see the actual damage of bleeding
-Sic ’Em, stealth needed a counter
-Scepter buff, on the right track but needs more (see below)

The Bad:
-Warriors are now overbuffed – too much healing and conditions
-Siphoning health in necro blood magic needs a buff still, but not too overpowered
-Immobilise stacking

The Missing:
-Ele focus buffs… this needs a fix and soon. It’s far too underpowered. One invuln doesn’t make up for what it’s lacking.
-Mesmer scepter, auto attack is direct damage when it is a condi weapon, doesnt make sense.
-Changing the condi meta somehow – classes should not be able to press one or two buttons and have a player down. It’s meant to be attrition not burst. Change condi cleanses or something.
-PvP rewards for the time spent.

Wow, it has been awhile since I’ve been onto this thread! A big HEYA to all the tens of new members! I’ll be happy to run any dungeons you may want, story or explorable, or just going around the world of Tyria when guesting arrives… trying to get 100% map completion – just give me a shout (if you choose to join the guild you’ll probably see me in Guild chat, loudly making myself known )

Here’s my idea on those I’ve levelled a bit
I also played ele and after a bit of a tough start, I found it was easier, using dodging to my advantages. They are also the best support class, as there are no true healers you’ve got to rely on other means – ele is the best imo. Also instead of just 10 weapon skills, you have 20 which is an added bonus! Just watch out for your naturally low health and defense. It is though a complex class and the learning curve is steep to begin with – but levels off once you pick up attunement dancing

Guardians are tougher fighters, and can give out a fair amount of damage as well. But they also are very good supporters if specced correctly and are very useful

Warriors are very fun and there are a wide variety of builds… not to mention being the toughest. not played it as much as the other 2, but they are a solid and easy to pick up class.

Thieves (GW2’s equivalent of rogues -_-) are like Gilosean said, seen as OP with massive damage and elusiveness. They’re a bit more complicated than warriors but nowhere near ele’s.

Necromancer is a fun profession as well, and has a very interesting mechanic – Death Shroud – which is essentially another health bar with some very cool abilities. Also the amount of different builds you can make with this class gives it great vesatility!

@Glitch – Just did a maths mock exam today under exam conditions with no notes But i have to say the revision I did payed off! 92% isn’t too shabby It just goes to show that if i put my back into it (which i rarely do ) then I could do good gains temporary invulnerability :P

I have to say maths is NOT my strong point – i envy those who get it in a flash – it takes hours and hours of hardcore revision for it to stick. Now Chemistry – that is where I shine, and i don’t care of that’s big-headed, because i love it

@DocEldritch – We’ll be glad to have you I’m sure! Many other people in the guild also have other guilds they belong too – as a cross-server guild it can be a bit tricky to set up events, but we manage of course. And kitten that Black Lion Trading Company for the gold blackhole it is for me – hope you can hold onto the cash a bit better than me!

@ Dax – Hey Dax! I’ve sent you an invite! I’m sure I can do a few dungeons with you as I am on an NA server! Unfortunately guesting hasn’t been implemented yet so I can’t chill with you in the wider PvE areas, but I’m sure anybody is willing to help – just ask.

@Elowin – Dungeons can take a little while getting used to but once you’ve done all the paths you never have to go back unless you love them to bits. Going with people you know aren’t going to get frustrated as well because they don’t want a quick run is a good idea. And a special Elowin achievement for being mobbed by a miniature army of spiders

@Aeleniel – Hehe I live in the UK and am 2 years from going to university/college. Not sure if i want to study in the UK or USA….

And the list of how many dungeons runs i’ve done and enjoyed has increased! Completed Ac explore path 2 again!! Thanks all who stuck it out with me

@DEKeyz – I prefer to stack precision as I don’t really like running condition builds – they all seem a bit too slow to me :/ . Burst was more what I go for as i didn’t specify earlier and like the concept of S/F but don’t know if it works well together? Only asking this as I am AWFUL at trying to create my own builds as they usually end in a vaguely human shaped bloody mess
