Looking for a friendly guild on Aurora Glade, experienced player starting over with new characters after a hack.. I’m a social player that loves to do dungeons. Would be willing to switch servers for the right guild!

I was just thinking this! Can we make a petition for this? I’d love to see them run a dungeon.

So we’re trying to progress a bit in fractals of the mists.. We’re doing decent, making it to tier 2 and all. Everyone is in a good mood. But then the following happens: we’re fighting the last boss of tier 2 (winged grawl dude) when one of my party members’ game crashes. Sucks, sure enough, after she restarts the game she tries to enter the dungeon again with us. At first it seemed promising, portrait showing up and all but the next second? BAM! we’re all booted to LA. I mean, seriously? we were almost done with that boss.
Dungeons sure are fun, but this is something that shouldn’t have happened. We wasted at least 40 minutes here and now we have to do the 2nd tier all over. Don’t mind doing it again but this is something that could happen again easily and thus should be fixed.

if you stand near the bank (for example) and you rotate your camera, you might end up selecting someone else, could be a random stranger. His name will not autocomplete when you try again.

what i think has happened, you clicked someone else while mailing. When you do so, his / her name will be entered automatically. If that’s the case, someone else has it. Maybe the devs can check who you sent mails to? If you’re lucky, you can whisper the person and he’ll send you the stuff back..

Okey, so i’ve been reading this post for a bit. Seems like a lot of players don’t like us (Desolation) because we have the benefit of an American guild. Because we have a night team, we get to win the matches pretty easily, working our way up the charts. But really, what’s the big deal? The point of a ranking system is that you fight servers that matches your strength. In a week or 2 you will be matched up against servers without a night team and things will be fun again. No more maps of one color.

Same goes for me, personally. I just want to have good fights in wvw, don’t care if it’s Tier 1 or Tier 6. Guess we are working our way up to the top now where we will face other servers with night teams so things will become more interesting for us as well. (i hate it when map is all blue and i have nothing to do )

For those who think it’s unfair: That might be, but would you also think it’s unfair if this happened on your own server? Would you talk to the american guild leader and tell them to go get lost? I can hardly imagine such things to happen.

I hope you guys are also finding an awesome guild that wants to join your nightcrew and maybe we will meet again in the future on even grounds

My first weaponsets change from time to time, i like to experience a bit so i don’t get rusty. I do make sure that my second weaponset is always a mace/focus. It’s blocking skills are amazing and the healing / blind top it off. No champion can take you on with this :p

Personally, I don’t really mind. I’ve (only) played like 180 hours on my guardian but it doesn’t take much time to get used to. I have never died because of using the wrong skill. I do find myself whirling instead of using the symbol occasionally, but it’s not a very big deal. In a week or so everyone probably forgot it was different in the past.

So i was waiting for my gf and i decided to check out the map for a bit. Turns out i found an area where you’re not supposed to go so thought i’d be a good boy and post it here.
Basically, right when you enter, you can turn left and jump on some purple coral thingies. When you have a leap skill, you can jump across to more of those corals. Another leap will take you to a ‘living’ thingie and then you turn right and walk all the way up. You’ll end up at the edge of the map, overlooking an endless sea.
Jump down and appear behind the portal to malchor’s leap.

I hate when people say that this game is not for you. Just because he thinks it has a steep learning curve doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be playing this game. I see this comment way too often, and strangely enough it’s only on this game.
I think it’s up to the players to decide for themselves if this game is ‘not for them’.

That’s what i meant I created my own and it would be awesome to have it on my tabard. I think it’ll stand out a bit more instead of an existing design where you can only change color.

I would also suggest that it only show players as “online” if they are currently IN the game, not on their character screen. As soon as someone logs into their account, they show up as online. It can be misleading if you’re saying “Hello <name>” and they actually aren’t there.

I’m not sure if they don’t announce a player’s online/offline status because players can change that at any time they are online. It wasn’t announced in the first game either. It might be to give players more privacy and to not have the “hello” spammed to them as they sign on. Players can also immediately mark themselves as “offline” from their friends list, where I believe you still see guild chat, but people cannot either see you there (online in the roster), or whisper you (although you are not actually invisible in the game lol). Again, another feature from the first game.

Privacy should be respected So i don’t think it’s necessary to alert when a player comes online, or players should at least be able to turn it on / off. But when someone joins the guild for the first time, a notification would be nice.
Additionally, wouldn’t it be nice if new players see the Guild Message of the Day when they first join? Best would be if anyone who comes online gets the GMotD for their representing guild.

Just some minor suggestions that would be good when you’re active in a guild. Not sure if posted before though, have checked but couldn’t find it.

So I’m the leader of a small, social guild and recruiting new players when i can. I can check my guild roster to see who’s online and who’s representing, which is fine. But i would love to see when a newly invited player starts representing. I mean, it’s a social guild, i should be able to give a new player a proper welcome, and not having to have my guild pane active until i see the player accepted the invite.

It would also be nice to see when a player was last online. It’s a bit misleading to promote a guild with 100 members while only 10 are really active. With this option i can remove inactive players so they can make place for active players.

Last things, i heard it was possible to have your own designed guild emblem, and that alliances would be possible. Any confirmation on that?

EDIT: I forgot some stuff Tried to change the Guild Message of the Day (gmotd), and while the button says “edit” it only allows you to make a new gmotd, rather than editing an existing one. It’s not even able to copy the old message and paste it in the textbox, and then edit it. It’s not really something that turns me off, it’s just inconvenient so thought i’d post it. Also, I think the messages could be a bit longer, since there is enough space in the guild pane.

I agree on this. A guardian can block just fine. Your virtue gives you one block every 40s, you can activate it for an additional block, mace skill 3 blocks and focus skill 5 blocks thrice. Also, the focus skill 4 makes the foe blind, another way to prevent damage taken. You can even use the elite skill that regenerates your virtues for yet another block. (forgot the name), it even makes you invulnerable for a brief time.
By the time you’ve used all those skills, either the foe is dead or one of the skills has regenerated. That is without any traits at all.

Some say that a shield is supposed to do the blocking, which is true, but don’t forget that a guardian uses magic. He is not using the mace / focus itself to block, but rather create an aura / ward that does the blocking. Also replacing mace skill 3 with shield skill 4 prevents the player to have a weapon set for blocking, so in my opinion not the best solution.

With these skills i find it easy to take on more enemy’s at a time, or even a veteran enemy, and barely taking damage. if all blocks are on cooldown i can dodge out of the way
