If you are the only one defending a tower vs a blob and you built a arrow cart. The chances of you killing a enemy is slim to none. If you dont kill any one then you dont get object defense completed. So Anet made it so when you are on a arrow cart just doing dmg to a player, you wont lose participation as fast but you are slowing down the enemy’s so ally’s can come defend and help you kill a enemy there for giving you participation.

Currently when solo scouting your home border the following often takes place:
1) You see an orange dot at a sentry near a camp.
2) You move to defend the camp.
3) The enemy runs away.
4) You recap sentry to keep participation
5) 2-10 mins later back to step (1)

Except under the new system step 4 no longer resets your participation to full

Finely…… Some one with a brain posted. I was thinking I would have to explain it. I love these changes because people can’t abuse this reward system in this way anymore. If it was me I would go a step further by saying capturing a sentry should give 3 minutes not 5.

Is I dont understand your statement about siege damage wall and it means that using siege against walls/doors isnt enough. Well, I think we can easily agree here it is NOT afking, that using siege is actually active play …

I will make you understand. It is quite simple. It does count for active play but only to a point. Making those who just afk trebing SMC all day long with a script rewardless. Anet has just fixed quite a lot of things that have been being abused in this game for year now. The changes they have made is nothing short then brilliant.

The reset times are as follows:

• Destroying a fortification – 5 minutes
• Siege Damage Wall/Gate/Player – 1 minute

It is still possible that we will tweak these numbers going forward.

My own experience from today: I already had participation Tier5, about 80%. I was in our tower, started to trebing Stonemist Castle. Everytime I hit the walls it gave me little less than 1% to participation. Fine. Walls went down slowly as walls do But all of a sudden I realized my decay timer started though I was still hiting the SM walls.

So, option 1 is I dont understand your statement about siege damage wall and it means that using siege against walls/doors isnt enough. Well, I think we can easily agree here it is NOT afking, that using siege is actually active play …

Option2: it should have been enough but it’s not working …

Start the race on time. Problem solved.

Thanks very much for nice advice. But maybe you didnt notice, when you enter Sanctum Sprint by talking to NPC you cannot choose map or whatever. The game just puts you in instance. So if you are put in instance where race already started, well, not much to do about starting on time, huh?

I don’t believe you are supposed to get any prizes for being first if you start late. You will get participation credit for the Daily if you wait out the timer (or the last person finishes).

Did you finish Sanctum Sprint? Just once? If you do, you’ve got chest in the end. It was empty for me, because late start. Understand now?

Joined Sanctum sprint today. Started a little late, so “because the late start … (whatever)” notice appeared. I did win the race. Got nothing. No final chest reward, no achievements progress.

To sum it all: I started late so have disadvantage, won, and been rewarded by no reward. Sorry Anet, but is it some kind of bad joke?

LW s3 ep3 - Frozen in Ice - cannot progress

I am doing mission Frozen in Ice … found all 3 pieces of Svanir armor … used it … started to heading to Svanir’s Hive main lodge, but after few seconds my Svanir armor dissapeared. So now, I cannot enter the lodge but my mission goal is still the same. Cannot progress.

P.S: no, I am NOT going to restart whole ep 3 …

OK. I have my own guild hall. Could you please tell me, how should I acquire so many acc-bound items (e.g. SW shovels) without p2p trading with people? Oh, you are probably going to tell me that I should spend whole days grinding like crazy in Silverwastes.

In other words: remove acc-bound restrictions (plus yeah, TP fees are ridiculously high) and I am gonna use TP for everything I need.

Your sense of proportion is a bit off. Bolt is worth ~4000g and being scammed over that would be devastating for the seller and a potential windfall for the “buyer”. Scamming shovels at what, 1g per item?, is just silly.

Sorry but it seems we are not talking bout the same … why are people using p2p trading? Two reasons, at least in my opinion:
1) too high TP fees
2) some items are not tradable via TP (acc bound)

Remove those reasons, problem solved. If anyone would use p2p trading after those 2 removed, I agree, their problem.

Not all game parts are for all, maybe you have already noticed that. Rotation system is meant to serve people with different activity tastes – at least I hope I understand it right.

If you don’t like activities, don’t do it. It’s ok – your decision. But you know, some people like them. In GW2 you can choose many things to do and allow others to do what they like.

Reward players starting WvW upgrades

Give player in WvW who started any upgrade (keep/tower/supply camp) credit for “Defend workers while …” event automatically (=even if no one attacks).

Upgrades cost player some silver/gold pieces, not that much, I know, but still … most people (my personal experience here) avoid upgrades. And I just feel those who care about helping defend their world’s Forts should be awarded, even in some symbolic way.

I suppose counter-argument would be like – No, this will raise PvE level in WvW – well, in my opinion that’s not the case. First, only 1 person starts an upgrade. Second – maybe this could encourage people a little to actively defend Forts etc.

First, I think changing activities into daily rotation was good move, but I was really disappointed Aspect Arena wasn’t include. Some people don’k like activities (or mini-games) at all, others have their favorites. And I really do believe I am not the only one who miss Aspect Arena

Ask yourself: If Fred is clicking a gazillion times, and I’m not — if I’m getting an achievement in 1/10th the time — aren’t I getting an advantage over poor ol’ Fred?

I don’t think we’d approve of this, even if we were in the business of approving of that sort of thing.

Ask yourself: is clicking gazillion of times fun? Or challenging? Or anything like that?

People wouldn’t try this kind of “help” if we have possibility to buy/sell/etc. items in stacks … (sorry to say, but clicking like crazy e.g. 500times to cast vote for your favourite Evon/Ellen is not very good way to do these things).

Besides, personal story has rather clearly marked level recommendation and it syncs well with rest of the areas, so if you’ve decided to skip or postpone it, it might be a bit of your own fault…

And this may not be true. I was trying to do all personal story mission at the right level … but one mission (with undead ships) was bugged, so I had to wait 14+ days to be able to continue … of course I’ve leveled to 80 and completed Arah Story dungeon.

Now I am forced to do it again. No, I don’t think it’s my fault.

Besides: story modes are supposed to do once – as a part (optional part!) of Personal story and to unlock explorable modes. And all of a sudden you have to do dungeon to complete Story mission. All misssions lvl 1-80 are soloable, so why we have to to dungeon at the end?

P. S.
1) No, it’s not about if I want to do easy things. I want things to be challenging, but this is just bothersome.
2) No, it’s not about “it’s easy to find a group”. Most people really don’t like this story mode of Arah dungeon, many my guildmates say that this is the most boring part of the game – but for sure I can find a group. But the question is: Why? I’ve already completed it. And it was not my fault that I haven’t the right Personal story mission.

Don’t understand me wrong. the game is great and I really like it – but things like this just spoiling my game experience.

TS problem - guildmates cannot hear me

Hi all.

I’ve got problem with TeamSpeak while playing GW2. If I run TS and I am not in the game, everything runs smoothly. But when I am in the game, nobody on TS can hear me, I can hear them well though.

I am using push-to-talk, hotkey is surely not used by GW2. TS version is 3.0.8.1, OS is Win7 64bit.

Never had the same problem while playing other games. I’ve tried to searched this forum but found nothing, just some TS causing graphic problems.

If anyone has idea what might be wrong, I’ll appreciate any suggestions.
