I’ve been playing GW2 on an Eyefinity 3 monitor setup for a while with no problems. The UI and log-in screen were centred on the middle monitor of the three.
I’ve got an R9 290 which handles the 3 monitor graphic excellently.
However the central log-in and UI now seems to have disappeared. The UI is stretched over the three monitors. The character select screen only shows the characters midrif. I recall having a similar problem ages ago but can’t remember how I solved it.
How do I get the central screen focus again?
I’ve had a gap from GW2 so some of the ‘legacy’ stuff is confusing me. But thanks for the clear advice.
And Brother Grimm’s comment re. adding notes to outdated items is a good one – Dev’s take note…
Ah, so I was missing something obvious. And thanks for the reply.
In my defence, the “Grandmaster’s Training Manual” states ‘Required Level 60’ when I hover over it. Which made me think that I could unlock those traits at lvl 60.
What’s the point of having a required level for something when you can’t actually use it at that level?
But again thanks for the help.

I’m not sure if this is a bug or if I’m missing something obvious.
I’ve got a lvl 78 Necro, and I’m wanting to add traits that are classed as Grandmaster.
My current Necro traitline is 4, 4, 0, 0, 2. I want to upgrade to 6, 6, 0, 0, 2.
But when I try to add Grandmaster traits I get the message “You cannot spend anymore points in this trait line until you receive training for Grandmaster traits”
I’ve got a ’Grandmaster’s Training Manual’ sitting in my inventory, but when I double click on it nothing happens.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?
Though to respond to my own question, I’ve just seen the “DPS Guardian for PvE” sticky at the top of this thread and it is very comprehensive – not just for DPS but for Utility builds too.
In my defence the DPS prefix stopped me checking it out…
I’m returning to GW2 after a pretty long break and trying to come to terms with all of the changes. I’m levelling a Necro and got a lvl 80 Engi and enjoying relearning both.
However, my lvl 80 Guardian is a bit neglected and I want to revisit it.
I mainly play PvE, but may be doing Dungeons with a new guild and also wanting to explore WvW.
I am not a PvP player though.
So any suggested builds/guides and the best class of armour and equipment to get?
I’m probably more interested in support/healing type stuff rather than pure DPS but any build advice is appreciated.
I appreciate I’m probably covering old ground but many of the builds out there pre-date the massive changes to the trait system and I’m a bit confused.
Cheers for the feedback. My interests are (in order of preference):
Dungeons – Yes. I’d like to explore them though I’m not too confident they are that good in GW2 (or that I’d be that good in them).
Open World PvE – Yes. It’s probably my ‘comfort zone’ style of play.
wvw – Yes-ish, though I’ll probably dip in and out as the mood takes me.
pvp – Definitely not. Too stressful for my casual play.
I’ve been away from GW2 for about a year, and I’m finding it a bit rough getting back into the new game environment.
I’m enjoying levelling a Necro at the mo but, I’ve got two lvl 80 chars from my previous experience in GW2:
1 – an Asura Bomb Engineer
2 – a Charr Guardian
I’d like to explore more ‘end game’ with my Engineer, but my traits have disappeared and generally I’m a bit lost.
Any advice re. what traits to choose, what engi build I should choose, and which ‘end game’ direction to go would be much appreciated.
Hello, kration,
Please provide more details on what you like to do – exploring the map, farming the events, doing PvP, WvW so we can provide elaborate.
Thanks for the reply and guidance. I would say:
Exploring the map – Definitely, though it’s a bit repeating what I’ve done already.
Farming Events – I’ve not done this on previous chars, but would like to now.
PvP – No
WvW – Probably not but may dip in now and then.
I’m experienced in Exploring on previous chars, but the whole ‘World Event’ thing might draw me in more now (especially as my new computer build is more adept at handling the zerg fest).
I’m basically looking at using my Necro to experience bits of GW2 I’ve not really experienced before – but I’m definitely more of a PvE player rather than PvP.
I was enjoyed GW2 a while ago – I’ve got an Engineer and and Guardian at lvl 80. But it’s about a year since I was absorbed with the game.
I’m thinking of getting back into it using my lvl 20 Sylvari Necro to explore the new mechanics, trading etc.
So, any pointers to good advice for a lapsed player wanting to level with a Necromancer?
I’m a UK based mature player LFG.
I’m on the ‘Gandara’ server but am happy to swap.
I’ve got a lvl 80 Engineer (bomber build at the moment) and I’m levelling a Warrior and a Guardian.
I was active in GW1 and GW2 at launch, I’ve just returned to GW2 after a gap. But I’m a bit jaded with solo PvE.
I’m just looking for a chilled, active Guild to show me what’s beyond lvl 80.
