I don’t think selling mats for vendor price+1c is a problem, that is only market responding to oversupply.
Main problem is that people still don’t know how TP actually works, how much is it’s cut.
It took me 3-4 sales to realize that besides 5% listing fee there is additional 10% seling fee.
Players that are selling gathered mats for 1C over vendor are making less money on TP than they would if they sold it to vendors, but crafters that are buying those mats and selling it bought mats +1C are actualy loosing money with every sale.

in a nutshell: if you are a crafter that is selling on TP, recalculate your costs coz you are probably loosing money.

Also to all that don’t know:
trading post takes 15% cut, 5% at posting an item and an additional 10% at sale
keep that at mind when selling anything, especially crafted items or you will most of a time be losing money.

i don’t think people are selling cheep just to empty their bags.
i opted in crafting and selling bags.
15 slot leather bag you can craft for 51.4s (50s for rune and 1.4s for leather)
you can make a profit if you sell it for 60.5 or more
and now a big hairy but

if you look at the market people are constantly losing money
and this goes for all 15 slot bags cloth leather and metal

Most people are not aware of additional 10% sales fee that is not advertised anywhere, it can only be seen once you sell an item and you get (guess how much) 10% less.
