Guild Wars 2

Im fairly new to the game even though Ive owned it since it came out I just got busy with life.

My Ranger is currently lvl 64 (my highest character to date) and I actually enjoy playing it more than the other classes, but Ive just been doing solo pve.

I havent been reading any builds just playing what I enjoy which happens to be the Long Bow and the Short Bow.

Well today I start reading up and from what Im reading Im playing the character completly wrong.

So my questions are. Is there a LB/SB build thats viable? Whats wrong with using this combo?

Basically what I do is use my pet as tank, and just dps from range.

I use to do the female character thing also, and the female norn is kind of hot, but now that I have an 8 year old son you feel kind of strange when he asks “Dad, why are you playing a girl?”….lol Thats a true story by the way.
Figure Ill wait a few more years before we have that talk.

Im just curious why there arent that many? I started leveling one and right now he is looking pretty cool, but I started noticing every time I came across another Necromancer it was a different race. Even on the forums where people post pictures of their Necro’s I only saw a couple.

Does the gear look ridiculous at higher levels on them? Or is it they get targeted more because of their size?

I actually bought the game before release to play with a couple of my nephews. We had been playing WoW for years.

Our schedules changed and I never got a character higher than lvl 50 when I decided to take a break from gaming.

I just started playing again and Im really enjoying the game, but Im quickly learning that Im missing out on how to do things. My current main toon in only lvl 30, but once I find a class I like I tend to stick with that class until they are pretty much topped out in gear and quest (from past mmo experiance)

So Im looking for a guild that doesnt mind answering a few questions as I lvl my toon (Im not looking for anyone to hold my hand and walk me through anything), and plans on or is already doing end game PVE.

Im a mature happily married male who is available to play almost every evening, and weekends. I can also use teamspeak or whatever ever communication program your guild uses
