Logitech G13 'shift' Keypress Not Recognized For Skill Binding

Logitech has drivers and a configurator app for Mac. It’s definitely intended to work under Mac OS. I am running Mountain Lion, and all up to date. It works fine everywhere except those specific cases. As I said, the ‘shift’ is sent when the chat box is open, so the game is definitely getting something that it’s interpreting as a ‘shift’, but not for hot keys.
Logitech G13 'shift' Keypress Not Recognized For Skill Binding

I have a Logitech G13 Gameboard with a key assigned to ‘shift’ and then numbers 1 to 5 so that I have 10 combinations for skills. This setup works perfectly in Windows. In Mac OS, when I press shift+1 in-game, it activates the skill that is assigned just ‘1’. It’s as if it ignores the ‘shift’. If I open the keybinding for that skill and try pressing the shift+1 on the gameboard, it only gets the ‘1’.
What’s odd is that if I open the chat input box to send a message, if I press shift+1, it does send a ‘!’ to the chat box, so the ‘shift’ is recognized by the client, just not for keybindings.
Also, if I try holding down the ‘shift’ on the gameboard and click an item, the item link is not created.
