I am glad I am not the only one. I love my elementalist!!! I got her to 55 last night. Most of my play has been solo. I also craft with her so in all honesty some of those levels have been from gathering/crafting but I am less than 150 skill level in both jewlery/tailoring. I also like the challenge of playing an elementalist. No it is not easy but I agree with you, I dont find them “underpowered” and yes they are “squishy”. I am to the point where if I plan it right and all my spells are up I can solo veterans and yes I have to run and kite while doing it but boy when they go down it feels good. I could not tell you what my stats are, I think they are kind of balanced out atm. Most of my trait points are in fire mostly because I like trowing fire balls around and can’t do it in real life so hey why not
It is defiantely a class you need to think about and use a bit of strategy with each pull and that is what I like the most. You dont just run into a group of mobs and smash away and come out on top all the time.
One thing I did do when I was high 20’s low 30’s was go back to a starter zone (yes I know I was leveled to match the zone. I chose a starter zone because this is a “learning” area) and learned exactly what happens when I hit certian spells and followed them up with others, basically learned how to create combos and how to survive and how/when to switch attunements. I use all of them pretty much equally. I am in no way a super elite player or even a good one and to be honest in PvP/WvWvW I would royally get my butt handed to me. I just really wanted to learn how to make it work for me.
