I’m also experiencing this issue. It does not give me an error message, it just throws me back to the launcher.
I’m in South Africa.
The repair option doesn’t fix the problem and I cannot connect to the VPN.

After I did the Wintersday update earlier today I have been unable to log into the game client. You log in as per normal and when you select a character and it starts loading the map / screen. Then an error message pops up that says "Guildwars has been updated. Please exit and relaunch it. (164:5:1:316:101)
I have logged a query several hours ago. I am still unable to log in.
I have the same error code. I sent a support ticket but still haven’t received a response.
I’m having the same problem after the Wintersday update. I log in and it starts loading the screen the just logs you out. Is Arenanet going to fix this?
