The one time event, and how i'm not gonna be in it

The team no doubt put a lot of time and heart into these one-time events, and masses of players will miss the experience due to commitments big and small. How is that fair on them? They paid just as much as everyone else to play the game.

I missed the Mad King wrecking the statue in LA. I missed the hole in the ground being closed up again afterwards. Did I enjoy the rest of the event? No. I saw cute baby quaggans dressed as ghosts and made my character puke on candy corn and got a book to wear on my back, but that was all side dressing to a main event that I had to watch on Youtube.

It seems silly to me that watching an ingame event on youtube is actually the best solution when Anet just need to make an event a 24 hour thing. Or put a dude in the zone that can play a cinematic for like a week or something. Just some really basic stuff to make people in a different timezone feel like they are still part of the world.

Seems like my toon is always turning up after the really epic event happens, but dont worry he’ll help you all clean up the mess. What a hero

Lag Spikes

At my wits end with mini lag spikes.

It started 3-4 weeks ago, I started working with my ISP (Vodafone NZ) as i was having spike every 30-60 seconds that would sometimes cause a disconnect (always near the end of a personal quest as well, lol). It made some PVE and SPVP unplayable. My ISP swapped my profile to one with less disconnects.

Now the lag spikes are more frequent I’m having a second long bit of lag every 10-20 seconds. Here is a tracert to www.guildwars2.com:

I live in NZ so 150 – 200 ms is fairly average for mmo’s, I used to hover at 150ms in WoW. Im hoping some smarter types than me can tell me if there is any problems with the above tracert. Im still on the case with the ISP, but I have run over 20 different tests for them and they dont have any answers for me yet.

I had a problem when mouse turning with right mouse button held down (RMB-mouselook) with my razer naga. Problem was fixed by opening up my naga and sanding down the plastic contact inside the naga, this had a groove worn into it that was stopping it connecting properly.

Here is a guide that helped me : http://www.instructables.com/id/how-to-repair-a-worn-out-clicker-on-an-optical-mou/#step1

You may need to google how to get inside you brand of mouse, naga was a bit tricky but there are heaps of good youtube vids.

For all the doubters it really was a physical problem with my mouse since sanding back the contacts two weeks ago it has been running like it was brand new.

Hope this helps some of you!

Same problem here, its very weird and makes it very hard to kite the baddies I want to kill.

From my experience it happens worse the more furious the combat and less when i am running around exploring the nooks and crannies
