So now that the newmatchups have happened, how badly is night capping wrecking your server?

Retracted that post, realized that kills count and there is probably spawn camping included in those figures.

It will be interesting once the weekend is over though, things might change drastically once everyone starts going back to work. I hope it continues on its current path though.
This must be why Anet decided to reset servers on Fridays, to give the peak weekend players the best possible experience?
They are high impact, that’s what the stats are there for: incentive to bust your team’s balls to get that thing out of the opponent’s hands. The best servers have already realized the strategic value of orbs and started playing for them, instead of fighting back and forth for the two towers on the bottom of the map while the third server sits high and mighty with two keeps and an orb up top. If your server is one of the latter, push them towards taking that orb. I’ve even taken part in seiges where we knew the opponent would get the orb, but our top priority was cracking it out of the fully-upgraded keep it was in. It was more important to us that the orb be back in play than who controlled it. So we raced the opposing server to the lord’s room and were satisfied that, even though we didn’t hold the orb, we had changed the balance from 3-0-0 to 2-0-1, making it that much easier to bring the top dog down. The orb remained in our natural keep (held by the same opponent who managed to hold the keep) and was now surrounded by wooden walls instead of fortified; a much better situation for our server!
Those stats were EARNED—no server starts with the advantage of three orbs, they achieved that through strategic play. Their priorities were correct and they executed tactics necessary to acquire the appropriate goal. And so they earn an advantage until another server comes along that is as prepared as they were, with the right tactics, with the right execution, and rips that thing from their hands to deliver back to their own server.
In the BL, your top priority is to capture and defend the orb. This provides a flat bonus to your server across all four WvW maps and is a point of pride for any team that manages to capture one.
In the EB, your top priority is to capture and defend the castle. This provides a huge point bonus to whichever server manages to hold it, and is a point of pride for any team that manages to capture one.

The reason: WvW isn’t PVP, it’s RTS. That’s why you don’t see your personal kills at the top of the screen, only your team’s score. That’s why you dont’ see players name, personal vendettas would break the team vs team mentality.

Stormbluff Isle 39,708 (3 orbs, 265 PP)
Eredon Terrace 28,741 (220 PP)
Henge of Denravi 24,662 (205 PP)
HoD has had a potential point lead over ET, and is catching up to them (was much worse this morning). When I got online around 10am, SBI had a 30% lead over 2nd place and has maintained roughly +300 pt for most of the day and all three orbs.

Oh, just remembered, when the orb was still grey but not moving from SB Garrison after HoD had capped it, some people reported that they had 10%/100 while others reported they still had 15%/150 buff. I had 10%/100 and when the orb vanished from the map, I regained 15%/150.
I’m on Stormbluff Isle and have played on the SBI Borderlands map for the last 5 hours or so, and have been in our WvW for the last 7. We are currently active against HoD and ET. While we have been doing very well this week and currently hold all 3 orbs and are 10k ahead of 2nd place realm (ET), there is a very serious bug that may give us an advantage later in the week.
As shown in this screenshot (SBI = blue), the Orb of Power on the SBI Borderlands map is uncaptureable, and the northern-most altar is attributed to SBI. I can verify that this orb would NOT had been in play for the last five hours, as our central garrison was only briefly lost for 15 minutes out of, what I’m told, the last 24 hours. However, at some point HoD or ET may make a strong play for the garrison and find the orb is not there.
As I saw it, the orb was originally held within the SB central garrison. The garrison was captured by HoD, and the orb then showed as grey—out of possession—however it did not move from the lord’s room in the garrison. HoD or ET would have to confirm what happened next, but I saw the orb vanish from the map, and it hasn’t returned for the last six hours. This has been confirmed by a number of other SBI players, none of us can see the current location of the orb on our SBI Borderland.
Currently the starting location for the orb shows as SB controlled, but the orb is not there to be captured. HoD and ET appear to be making plays for our central garrison, so it’s unclear if the orb is visibly in our control there, but from our perspective the central garrison is empty—the altar is grey, as are the altars of the other two keeps on our map.
When I (SBI) approaches the blue altar, it gives me an F option to steal the orb of power, as if it isn’t in our server’s control. Hitting F does nothing. HoD and ET have led upwards of 20 people raids on the northern supply camp, leading me to believe that they see the orb or altar in our possession up here (they do not tend to overplay like this for the other supply camps).
And that’s all I know. As of yet, this hasn’t affected the scores in our contest, but at some point we may lose control of this borderland and the orb should technically come into play. It won’t, and that will begin to give us an unfair 5%/50 advantage. Please look into this—just don’t reset the WvW week, because we are kicking all kinds of tail in there!
Edit: This may simply be a SBI-only display issue, perhaps the orb is in our control in the Lord’s room, but HoD held the garrison long enough to start that thing moving, and nobody ever saw it move.
Personal story, Priory path level 51 mission “The Ghost Rite” gets stuck on the second objective, to enter the Ritual Circle. No location is indicated on the map to enter. A friend and I both made the same mistake repeatedly, and a google search led us to believe this story was bugged—it is not.
There is one circle on the beach, a statue with circle platform, and a second made up of NPCs just to the right of your starting location. The NPC circle is the one you’re intended to enter, but if you go to the beach the mission appears to continue as if it should, all the way up to and including killing the boss. It needs to be made more clear to the player that they should enter the “ritualist’s” circle, instead of the “ritual circle” which could be interpreted to be the statue-like circle on the beach.
