Should I move to T3?

Tier 3 NA player here from Dragonbrand.

Tier 3 is sort of a mix of both worlds. During NA and SEA prime hours maps still queue, megablobs still exist, and there are plenty of large fights and guilds that aspire to excel in large scale fights. That said when you move away from those prime hours things start to change. There are times when there’s nobody out except roamers, or when it’s quiet enough that impromptu dueling rings start up on the more trafficked areas of the map.

Coverage is a big deal here though, since none of the servers are full or cover all the timeslots. While there are times that there’s a zerg out for both sides, or times when nobody but roamers are out for both sides, there are also times when a zerg is out for one side and nobody but roamers on the other. Some of us actually find some amusement in these situations but usually no happy endings.

There is some GvG in tier 3 but it’s smaller and less competitive than higher tiers from my experience. On the other hand, it’s also less stale to a lot of the people involved in this tier because its emergence has been more recent. Guilds here are also more likely to value winning before pride, at least on my server, compared to what I experienced when DB was in tier 2.

So in conclusion, WvW in this tier is probably the transition space. There are times you can come out and get in crazy massive battles, and there are times you when come out and just kind of kick it. A lot of us like the pace here.

Is the 'Eviscerate' animation accurate?

Basically the title, when I play with axe I feel that the game registers the hit well after the animation of the impact. Ie. The skill can still be dodged even after the animation completes. Or am I just crazy.

I played warrior pre-and post adrenaline nerf, the animation itself is unrelated to the nerf. Just maybe a little more noticeable/costly now.

Guild wars 2 Tanky/dps wvw roaming build

Let me start out by saying that this build has beautiful stats. One of the best stat builds I have ever seen on any warrior, period. Those stats will make you a force in a zerg fight, or against certain classes and builds who can’t handle the combination of durability and damage. Prior to the healing signet nerf, you might have just been able to out-sustain anybody that you fight. What you may not realize, is what you are sacrificing to gain those statistics.

Looking at your traits and at your bar, you are running 2-3 statistical signets, without signet cooldown reduction. Dolyak for toughness, might for power, and sometimes fury for crit. That is pushing your stats to incredible levels (2500 power!) but you are essentially sacrificing your utility bar. What your build lacks are dynamic skills, that dictate the flow of battle, or give yourself a tactical advantage. Almost all of your “dynamic skills” with the exception of Berserker’s Stance, are on your hammer. With slow weapon swaps, you will have difficulty capitalizing when you use them, when you fight, especially 1v1 or 1vX you probably feel “down time”… to DPS a player with the greatsword he needs to be disabled by the hammer, what do you do for the first 4.5 seconds of the hammer if you need to wait to disable so that you can switch to the greatsword before the disable wears off? How do you deal with a 45 second stability cooldown? What dimension could be added to the gameplay of your build with 1 utility that replaces the one that I wager you very rarely ever use? (Signet of Strength)

So again, the stats are absolutely amazing, but the problem is, what does it do? It can hit and stun people, sometimes, it can bring heavy dps, sometimes, the burst is difficult to achieve and requires precise timing, and to execute it you must leave skills unused for several seconds, while your enemy does who knows what.’

I hope you find this helpful and don’t think I’m just tearing you down because I think your work on the stats are excellent. In large group fights where you can capitalize on the dynamism of others you will dominate with this build. If you see what I’m saying maybe you will find some places to make sacrifices on statistics, and give your build more ways to capitalize on it’s power.

I need advice on my build.

I feel as though I should outline my play style a bit more clearly. I prefer to maximize my damage and worry about my own skill in positioning/outplaying my opponent(s) in order to win a fight. I do not need toughness. I simply need the utilities to survive. ie. blocks, immunities, condition cleanses. I do not need stability as I am usually aware of my surroundings enough to avoid CC.

Ouia La, if you are as capable as you claim

In order to use the sword in a power build as you wish, you must stack might to utilize the sword’s bleeds, so the weapon may bring it’s full effect to bear.
