Oh one last thing before I go (wow I posted a lot this morning)…

But I just wanted to bump it here and encourage everyone from all servers to participate. As much as we get caught up in it, this is still just a game and the world goes on regardless of our petty squabbles here. I for one am thankful that I get to enjoy this game and read these forums with relative comfort, knowing that not everyone is as fortunate. Cheers all =)

FA has been consistently judged by its forum warriors, a fact that I have often resented because I assumed a label (for being on FA) even though I so rarely agree with our trolls. Now TC has seen a marked increase in their own warriors, so are we to judge their server in a similar fashion?

I for one will not do so. And all I ask is that TC returns the favor. There is sooo much hate for FA because of the viewpoints of our narrow-minded folks that decide to post here, so maybe now TC can understand what it feels like and cut out the hatred and spite. I can guarantee the FA trolls won’t stop, that horse has been beaten enough (trust me i’ve tried). But that doesn’t mean that fire should be fought with fire, burning the thread in the process.

They are also the majority.

It’s always the minority that gives a server a bad name unfortunately. Although it seems recently a lot more are getting better at not generalizing like this. I never really understood all the anger and passion from either side honestly, it’s a game, no need to get so worked up and petty over it.

Lol.. Comprehension? I don’t think it is hard to comprehend somebody saying that an ally is now worthless once that ally is no longer strong enough to be of use.

TC and Kaineng were “allies” in regards to how we viewed each other – respect and sportsmanship. Certainly we weren’t allies on the battlefield – my fond thoughts of TC as a server sure didn’t stop me from smoking them, nor did it keep them from planting a spike in my head at times. Not entirely sure why anyone would blow that out of proportion and make it seem like we’re the U.S. and Britain in WWII. On the battlefield, red is dead, as it’s meant to be.

When you start saying that an ally is no longer useful to you it implies something more than a buddy partnership going on. Not that the entire server felt that way about KN. I mean, if you real life friend moves away, do you say “well, theyre useless to me now?” I am sure most people keep in contact as best they can, and not worry about how useful that friend is to them.

Seems full of mutual respect and sportsmanship to me.

Keep in mind that it was one person from TC speaking his mind (I won’t mention who to avoid infractions). While that one person shows a lack of respect and sportsmanship, it isn’t necessarily indicative of the entire server.

A previous poster did have a point about the open-field battle. TC is very good at “getting the job done,” but we tend to struggle when we meet outside the bounds of the job, on the open field. Cmdr Odin was giving some minor general pointers to players yesterday as he led us around EB, and things seem to have improved in the subsequent encounters.

I know we all like to win all the time, but unless we’re honest about our weaknesses, we can’t really get better.

I think it is really a difference in play styles that contributes to TC’s open-field problems. TC relies heavily on its militia, whereas FA has a good variety of organized guilds. In open field organization > militia almost every time. Unfortunately for us, open field pvp is only half the battle so we get crushed in ppt.

Hey TC, please discourage your members from posting on our community forums. We don’t care so much about the spying/lurking, but we have to read enough TC/FA bickering here we really don’t want it over there. We’ll do the same for our members.

Everyone plays the game how they want. Respect that decision and move on.

With the respective goals of each server I don’t understand all the antagonistic feelings (okay I do, but bear with me here).

FA is happy to be in T2 with some great fights, not caring too much about the score. TC wants to better their server through the meta and move up the ladder, eventually (but not immediately) securing a spot in T1. These goals are in no way mutually exclusive. TC can continue to win the tier and FA can have its GvG/Open field fights. Maybe not with as many TC guilds, but I’m sure there are some willing to try and plenty of KN guilds as well.

In light of that it really is a win win situation for both.

And to TC: For what it is worth I would recommend giving GvG a try. I feel you guys are going to win the week by a comfortable margin. GvG gives both parties a place to have a bit of fun, improve tactics, and prep for some T1 fights.

From what I have seen, the guilds that have done it from TC and KN (e.g. CERN, RISE), have been treated fairly and shown full respect from the FA guilds they fought. I’m sure that they themselves can attest to it.

You know whats really embarassing that i saw on a daily basis? going to BL where we held keeps and it only having 3 siege built over the course of 3hours until we were either attacked and forced to build more or we got mawed over, and even when the keep became paper gates, we would have a hard time flipping it back because enemy server laid down 6-8siege on keep. FA was doing things like this all the time during its time in T2

This is extremely embarassing for a t2 server, Worst server i’ve ever been on, and i’ve been on a few.

Have you even been to the FA community website? The thoughts there echo your own sentiments exactly (albeit in a constructive, not negative, way). Ignore the FA forum warriors here, their opinions mean little to nothing. Real discussion happens on the servers website, where we know our place and are committed to improving for a shot at T2 again. The link is in Mif’s signature if you missed it.

I can assure everyone (especially those throwing around the typical server generalizations) that the majority of FA realizes that constructed 2v1’s are almost non-existent, and are a product of opportunity. I even made a post saying as much, but of course sensible posts seem to be ignored for the chance to stick it to a troll (which is exactly what they want—surprise surprise).

MOS always fluctuates wildly during reset weekend. Last weekend it said we were going down to T3 as well, but we ended up passing Kaineng and securing second. The week is still young.

I am a bit surprised at our reset performance. It would seem the time shift hit us pretty hard. Other than that complaining about 2v1 won’t get you anywhere so don’t bother with it.

Agreed IRSyKo. And Bones I’m sorry you feel that way, there’re some great people on the FA site. If I can offer some advice, just ignore the trolls. You’ll notice that the same people who come here proclaiming FA to be the gods of WvW never said a word last week and were the first to bail to PvE when we were down.

Take FA keeps and Garrison they vulnerable now. Who will defend them, what little coverage and support they have. With guilds leaving left and right FA will pull an SOS maneuver (Tier 1 to tier 4 in about a month).

The 99% of FA who are NOT leaving will defend with our lives (or just take yours), thank you very much =)

I started a thread on the FA forums to discuss this very thing. The conclusion we came to is that FA cares about PPT to the extent that it does not interfere with having fun. Yes there are some who use it as a crutch unfortunately, but most of us want to simply enjoy the good fights, and are quite happy to let TC win T2.

And that’s not to say FA can’t or doesn’t play the points game. We made the push to get to T2, made several weeks of pushing to beat TC, and now we are pushing to stay in the tier. We put on our PPT pants when need be.

Now this isn’t one of those “we could beat you if we tried” posts, TC is a formidable opponent. But your suggestions to improve our meta just aren’t fun in our eyes, because our goals aren’t necessarily the same. Our mentality and culture are in part a product of being dominated in T3 (mostly by TC no less), and it is one we are proud of.

That’s entirely your prerogative, and your server is fully entitled to adopting that attitude.

Likewise, TC has every right to play the ppt meta too no?

I dont know why there’s a need then to QQ endlessly about 2v1, transfers, coverage… etc etc.

IF it’s about the fights, why the QQ about stuff other than fights?

I don’t understand all the FA posters saying that KN is winning because of PvD. For over two hours this morning we (FA) held WM and Meow from capping our garrison. It was some of the best WvW/FA performances I have seen, and it really discredits us few SEA timeslot players when you basically state that we don’t exist. Yes we are outnumbered, but discrediting KN’s advances while we are outnumbered discredits our own accomplishments when we are the ones heavy in population.

Any points achieved during FA downtime are hard fought, and us valiant few are here to make sure of that. The problem with this morning is that our defense ultimately cost us ppt. KN stayed in FABL to take garrison for hours, whereas if they capped the whole thing they would have left and allowed us to recoup our loses, which is what happened in TCBL.

Ummm, so we transferred to TC like last week? People can do that you know. We thought FA was going to be fun, but its like a big server of people who just run around and focus on killing people instead of the meta game. TC is fun and more organized, but it is really bad at fights.

The funny thing is… I’m sure over 50% of FA would take this as a compliment =)
