ArenaNet does not restore lost items, gold, or characters. I had my account hacked and lost basically everything. It’s a terrible way to protect your good customers interests when you basically cannot help them whatsoever in any event that has you losing your things.

My account has been compromised. I’ve had this happen in games before GW2, so I wasn’t that worried. Yes, I’m using e-mail verification, but somehow or someway, my account was accessed. My passwords are only known to me, and I’m the only person that uses the account. Now, my real problem isn’t the fact that I lost all my items, gold, and that my characters were obviously used for farming purposes; my real issues is that my “things” cannot be restored. I e-mailed account support about my problem, and received a simple response, “The Guild Wars 2 Support Team is unable to restore missing characters or items. I understand this may be frustrating, but we simply do not have the capabilities to do this.” This is really kinda troubling to me, because as a person that doesn’t get an opportunity to play a lot, my drive to come back and play now is really really low, since my items are gone.

How can a game this big not have this capability? Now, I apologize if I sound demanding, or maybe I should just “suck it up and get new stuff,” but this is extremely frustrating to have 0 options after an attack like this, especially when I followed all recommended security precautions given to me.

Where do we go from here? I’m glad to see these farmers are profiting off of my “secure” account…
