Put all token rewards at the end of a dungeon only, none from chests. There problem fixed.

Dude, I don’t know if you know this or not, but this is the Guild Wars 2 forum? I don’t know if you’ve played the game or not… but you clearly are thinking of some different game.

The changes are absurd. I’m done posting reasons for why it was absurd.

I think that a massive chunk of the user base will just stop running the dungeons (myself included) and the armor sets that we see running around will just be something for us to chuckle at.

That’s a better design. So you’re saying you’ll laugh at people who worked hard and put in hours for their pieces and endured all the deaths everyone claims come no matter what, right? So less people will have them, and people who do have them will feel like they earned it and are actually part of a minority?

Seems like the perfect solution. Make people who can’t take it stop doing them because the dungeons are actually too hard for them – not just the difficulty, but because the “reward” is stagnant at “oh,kitten I don’t get enough silver”…whereas the ACTUAL reward for doing dungeons is the armor pieces at the end.

Cool/unique things should cost money and require time and effort, not make you a profit all the time and make you look cool.
^Learn this, then realize why dungeons are a money sink and worth it, from the right perspective.

So basically, you’re saying, the only people who should play this game are hardcore players that want to put 5 hours and 30s into a dungeon for maybe one piece of gear that’s worth anything or a couple tokens?

And what did I say about elitists being the only one who like this update? Lol

You are incorrect yet again, Vanisher. You get significantly less experience and the cost is much higher with the rewards much less. The gear isn’t as good, either. So, clearly, you haven’t been playing dungeons lately, or you would have noticed.
I love how the people voicing their opinions about how great the dungeon system is now are the ones who don’t even PLAY dungeons. Lol
And no one wants them to be easy. They want there to be incentive. That’s what everyone’s mad about. Why play a dungeon that now takes 3 hours when it only gives you 20k exp, crap loots, and 9s when it costs 30 to play? I would love harder, more diverse dungeons. CM (which is the cause of all this) was a crappy, linear dungeon to begin with. That was their fault for making it crap. I like AC and TA fine, but there’s no good incentive to play them.

So your answer, Vanisher, is to nerf all the items, all the exp, and all the money to make there be no incentive to play dungeons at all? I don’t understand that logic. If anything, make them harder, but keep the rewards the way they were before. That’s the best way to fix it. And what does WoW have to do with any of this? They didn’t nerf rewards like Anet. -_-

Nothing’s wrong with making dungeons harder, Efaicia. I am fine with really hard dungeons, or dungeons that take 2+ hours. I’m not fine with being in a dungeon that costs 30s in repairs, 2 hours of play, and the only reward is a couple crappy items and 9s and barely enough exp to get two bars. It makes dungeons pointless. And clearly you don’t play them, or else you would agree.

LOL, people on these boards love the word ‘vocal minority.’ Have you seen the board post of the update? Pretty sure 12 pages of uproar isn’t a minority. And like I said, Anet should post a poll. I would love to see the results. And I’m in a guild of 30 active dungeon players. Not a single one is happy. None of my friends are happy. And none of the (sane) people I’ve talked to are happy. Only the diehard fans who hated the fact that there was an easy dungeon. ONE easy dungeon. So they ruined the whole system, nerfed everything, for no reason except blatant elitism. LOL

Yeah, I totally love paying 20s to play a dungeon because it’s impossible to beat, then not get any loot and get 9s at the end. My friends love it too. We’re so happy about it. And the story? Oh my god, the stories are the best after about the fifth time through. I almost cried in AC when I found Eir for that fifth time. It’s so heart warming.
That’s like saying, “Who goes to school for an education? That’s just stupid.” LOL

I’m sure a Mod’s going to lock this board, as they’ve been locking the others. But seriously guys. If a majority of people don’t like the update, you’d think they’d undo it or resolve it. Does Anet really care THIS little about its players? And I say if you people are so unsure if it’s a majority, set up a poll. It’s not that hard. I’d like to see the results.
This dungeon update is awful. 5 of my friends were about to buy the game and I stopped them simply because of this update. Until it’s undone, you can consider me boycotting.

It is still very easy Anet. It’s still childplay. It would be awesome if the difficulty, armor repair cost increase. Oh yes did I forget to mention reduce to rewards so elite skilled players appreciate the rewards more.

Agreed, the 9s repair cost is too low at level 80. It should be at least 90s-1g per piece. The reward also should be 2 copper as 2 silver is a FORTUNE! We don’t want people inflating the economy by bringing 2 whole silver in every time they complete a dungeon, that’s just too much.

Question: They take out the ability to grind dungeons because they hate grinding. Isn’t running around finding waypoints and doing 100% maps considered a lesser form of grinding? I mean it’s worse than grinding because you’re not killing anything. So why not take that out? Oh, because the diehard fans who demanded that CM be screwed over are the only ones who grind maps like WoW players grind monster kills.
There’s grinding in EVERY MMO. The best part of GW2 is that we can choose to do different things to level. Or we used to be able to. Now they took out dungeons because some people were complaining about it because THEY didn’t like it.
So stupid.

Get rid of the constant diminishing returns throughout the game!

It’s as simple as them not wanting people to get to level eighty. Instead of altering the dungeons/making more, or making more endgame material, they just make it harder and harder to get to 80 under the guise of ‘Oh, we want you to not grind.’
I thought this game was made under the whole point of, ‘Play the way you want, you don’t HAVE to grind.’ not ‘OH, if there’s grinding involved in the slightest, we’re going to take it out (even though it’s just an OPTION) because some players hate the very existence of grinding even if they don’t have to do it.

All these people saying how the changes are justified. Please justify spending 2~4 hours of your time in a dungeon only to get 7 silver in return.

Fun. That’s why it’s called a game and not a job.

Um, okay, well, if you want to play a game that you just run around, don’t get money, don’t get levels, and don’t get loot, then please go play monopoly. Because, now they’ve made the game impossible to play through.

Cromx.3941 We finish it just now, with 2 guys from guild level 48, 49, please just set your group properly and stop all of you going glass cannon, evade or ask your team mates to think of a build together to do it.
This remembers me to DoA times in GW1, everyone was whining, complaining it as to hard, in the end was fine and enjoyable.

Yeah, Cromx. Obviously it’s your fault. It’s not like the whole forum is in an uproar about the changes, not like it’s clearly harder and clearly worthless to play dungeons anymore. Nope. It’s definitely your fault.
The people who say these types of things are clearly so into the game that they won’t criticize any part of it. Blind sheep, basically. If these changes aren’t undone or fixed, I too will uninstall and quit this game. And my entire guild of 25 have the same sentiments.

Basically, all I’ve seen is people getting angry because other people were getting more for their time and effort in completing dungeons. This jealousy lead to these players bashing dungeons people were grinding because these players are so anti-grind that they intend to ruin it for everyone else. I mean, seriously. Who complains that other people are doing better simply because they took the time to grind?

I understand GW2 is very anti-grind, but you’re getting to a point where you’re making this game impossible. I do NOT support the changes you have made to the dungeons. They’re way too hard, they give little back, and there’s no point in playing them more than once. Just because you hate grinding doesn’t mean you have to ruin it for players who prefer it. My entire guild and I are livid with the fact that dungeons are now impossibly hard, make you spend money instead of gaining money, and now you can only complete them twice. This makes dungeons completely and utterly pointless.

It all boils down to players being jealous of other players surpassing them by doing something different then them. ‘Oh, that player got to 80 grinding a dungeon. Even though I had that choice, I’m going to whine about how hard I worked to get to 80 and they didn’t.’ It’s simple prejudice at its best.

But dungeons are important to MMO’s, and you’ve made yours pointless. Absolutely pointless. I don’t mind making dungeons harder, but making it so you get no loot, no money, and no experience and you can only play it twice makes it completely pointless to do. If you hate grinding, don’t do it. Don’t ruin it for other players, and don’t make your game have worthless dungeons.
