God Nemesys has spoken, he shall enlighten u with his wise words.

Let me tell u the Story of God Nemesys, on a dark day, he decided that hes gonna play wvw, so he joined the enemys borderlands. Everything was green and the enemy was everywhere and he was alone but no, God Nemesys didnt hide or leave. He charged alone into the 500 man blob, yes 500 on one borderlands, and wiped them in one sec.

From this day on, he was never forgotten. God Nemesys, best Forumwarrior and best playa in the world. We love him, U love him and now pray for his kindness or next week, hes gonna faceroll ur server.

True Story

I don’t even know why I am bothering to post this.

Nem is many things, but the fact that XxX runs every night alone outside of any zergs looking for fights, gives him the right to mock any mindless mob running around.

Your post makes no sense and will be probably deleted. He has a valid point, you do not.

Statistics of the new ranking system

in WvW

Posted by: niedawow.6725

niedawow.6725

The RNG isn’t what’s going to stabilize the system, specifically. The RNG adds more sample points on which the rating can be computed and averaged. The current system has, at any given time, literally 3 data points per tier on which to build its ratings which leads to servers being literally stuck in rating for months on end because there is no chaotic deviation of any sort or adequate data accumulation on which real data can be generated.

Look back to the SoS/HoD/etc collapses, the system had nothing but old data and few incoming data points with little deviation between them on which to “rate” the dead servers. So they remained in T1/T2 for months while barely even having a standing population on a single map. If you add a chaotic deviation such that they can be literally thrown in against an opponent two tiers below and still get demolished, their rating would then tank post haste because the rating system knows that they cant even compete against low ranked servers. Likewise on the climb, the same would be true.

As more data is gathered, the chaotic deviations will lessen because there is more data to outweigh the randomness. This is, all in all, pretty standard.

Sorry, but you and more importantly ANet do not account the human factor in their calculations. Let me explain shortly.

By now, the server population knows which server fields which guilds and how their coverage is. If you take a tier 4 server like mine and put it with this wide spread against Vizunah, people are just going to quit WvW after 2 days. Why? Because all the progress made during the day is going to be negated by the opposing server’s night crew.

Now, this would happen for a week and the new system is going to pick new opponents. BUT, the minute the new system picks up Gandara and Vizunah again, players are not going to play from the first day on – thus lowering the score of their server significantly. This will happen every single time a server faces another server knowingly that they will loose anyway. This is how people think and this is how people play.

And why is it so? Because there is no other reward right now other than fun. There are no shiny epix, no gold, no nothing – only fun. It is not fun starting a match and knowing you are going to loose anyway.

"Allied boons" made party-wide first?

in WvW

Posted by: niedawow.6725

niedawow.6725

Hello,

Seeing Devon responding to couple of Q&A’s I was wondering if we could get this one answered.

Boons marked as “boons for nearby allies” should be made check for party first (600-900 units AOE), so we can actualy start making group compositions that make sense. For example:

- a guardian for stability/protection
- a warrior for might/fury/swiftness
- an elementalist for regen
- etc

Leave the area effects as area effects (swiftness, healing), but please please PLEASE make other boons party-wide first, then allies. There is nothing worse running into a battle with a group and applying boons to some random allied player in the vicinity, while my party members die in CC or loose speed or don’t gain protection – you get the point.

Thank you.

P.S. While we are here – implement raid groups with some distiguished mark (crossed swords or something) for the leader. Make boons check for party, check for raid, then check for allies. Raid frames (tiny ones) are great information for the raid leader in order to monitor who died, how strong the groups is and so on.

Ruins of Surmia-Gunnar's Hold-Dzagonur

Guys from Surmia you have a lot of things completely screwed up. XxX being aroung 15 players? LMFAO. Surmia has now become the Justin Bieber of Guild Wars 2. You guys are hilliarious, you are talking as if there are some minor adjustments with all the new guilds. All we run into are big guilds that recently transferred, if it isn’t Vcy+XxX it’s Riot+Votf. So don’t give us that crap. If by “having” good fights mean completely outnumber your opponent, well then congrats. Then you’ve been successful. Everytime we wipe one of the big guilds another one comes.

I will take the time to answer this. XxX is a small, but very dedicated guild of WvW players. Our roster is smaller than 30, our group – smaller than 20. We fielded 17 yesterday.

We have much respect for open field battles against organized groups or bigger PUG groups. We DO NOT wish to run along side any other group, which sadly would have happened if we stayed on Gandara, where our opponents blobed up using multiple guild groups to chase and battle us. The only time we met VcY on the field was at the GH garrison. SoR would have lost the garrison, because GH had way bigger group. We fought you off fair and square.

You will meet us on the battlefield almost every night running alone. Fight us, respect us and you will get the opposite in exchange too. We look forward fighting you, dying to you and most certainly killing you

hmm not much has changed. My guard only has one ascend piece right now, working on getting more. Most of them went to my warrior lol.

But this is what I typical run as of now.

I see you’ve brought up your armor to 3k again, while still keeping 3k attack, +40% crit rate, +80 crit damage, and nearly 18k hp! I don’t see how you did it!

RESPECT!

I was thinking exactly the same. I can bring up the offensive stats to your level, but how do you manage to push your HP that high? Could you please post your updated gear? Thanks

P.S. I dont use Divinity runes, way too expensive for me. I use 6x Ruby orbs, so yeah .. some stats may deviate.

Symon’s History of Ascalon.

Toughness and Power are both great stats and the Crit Damage from that item is pretty cheap in regards to stat distribution. Many people overlook the correct way to gear for Crit Damage.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/12dmi5/tip_stat_optimization_with_crit_damage/

Having that in mind, do you go for the celestial rings (or some other ascended rings) or those with crit damage (8% per ring)? I am still looking for a good balanced gear that utilizes survivability, but is being able to pack a punch too.

What’s up with all the elitism in this thread? Is there a new movement of superior elementalists that I never heard of? You don’t need to brag with your stats and keep your equipment hidden. There are excell sheets out there, where you can put all the gear and calculate your stats. Everybody can get the same equipment, if they are willing to spend the time and/or the money.

Post your gear, post your builds, so new players can decide which way to go and what gear to farm.

^ Exactly my thoughts, because I tend to play like this too. Last week I’ve been trying to polish my play style a bit, including using my skills properly and moving only so much needed in a given situation. Personaly I tend to over react and get very excited when the fight starts, which makes me smash buttons without thinking. I took a step back ankittenrying to play calmly, which results in overall better performance as you have enough time to think before you do.

Nice video tough, I like the offensive style.

Change of race?

I would like to see a race change option (gem store) aswell. Like OP said, it could be a permanent disguise option. All the armors and such are already in-game, so they need to be mapped. Unfortunately I have no idea how ANet stores the character information, but it should be database based, so implementation should be possible.

I am just fed up playing asura ..

Hi guys,

I was wondering what I am doing wrong following these steps to stack might:

I have the same build, the same sigils and runes. When I create a fire field and try to dodge into it, I dont get a might stack. The only way I am getting might is trough fire3/4 and earth 4/5 (of course the sigil and the arcana 5 trait included). So, what am I doing wrong with the dodging part? And yes, I am in combat too.

Thanks

I have a question about gear. This setup being tanky and durable relies on toughness/vit/healing power. Does anyone run a bit more of a crit chance mixed in? Couple of knight pieces or berserker weapons? Different set of runes or orbs?

Or just stick with the plan and outlast your opponents while delivering constant damage? I do not run solo, but mostly in a group where I passive tank and cause distraction/panik while the rest of the group drops the enemies. BTW, I am currently only lvl24 and miss all the synergies and still can contribute to the group. Having a blast

Been following this thread for some time now. I gathered all the equipment I could and got pretty near the OP stats. To be honest, it doesn’t work for me. Yes, I am very much more durable and yet I still feel that I am not contributing enough to my guild’s group other than run in and take some flak fire for the team. Killing things is painfully slow.

I am not a friend of glas cannon builds, but mixing up the gear a little bit should bring more diversity and contribution. I will try to switch out the jewelry for berserkers while maintaining armor with soldier crests. With some tweaking of the food and oil instead of sharpening stone, it should be possible to up the damage significantly while maintaining durability (which does not only come from stats anyway).

Best PVE warrior build for leveling to 80?

in Warrior

Posted by: niedawow.6725

niedawow.6725

The most easy way to level is by using sword+warhorn, rifle as offhand.

By using sword you gain two great advantages – bleeds and leap. Bleeds kill mobs pretty fast and you stack them on all mobs you are hitting (up to 3). Leap gets you faster to the next target, gets you out of combat if things go wrong and is a great overall mobility tool for traveling around the world. Beleave me, the best tool to get around the 80’s areas in the endgame.

Warhorn is by far the best mobility tool for a warrior. Use it for this purpose and you will thank me later. Your warrior being level 28 will soon unlock signet of rage, which as an addition to the warhorn gives you essentially perma-swiftness, which makes traveling even easier.

Traits: first 15 points go into Defense to get adrenal health. This, coupled with restoration signet and a cheap bloodlust sigil on your sword, will keep you alive in almost every situation. Invest the next 20 points into Arms – get “deep strikes” and “deep cut”. Those will boost your crits, hence enhance your bleed stacking and will make your bleeds last longer. Use “for great justice” to boost your crit rate and another two signets of your liking (bringing your signets to 4, hence the “deep strikes” trait).

Past that invest points whereever you like.

Use rifle as offhand for obvious range/kiting purposes.

This will dumb down your play style, because you will literaly stay infront of the mobs and unload damage while regenerating health. The superior mobility and the bleeds will make your play a blast, because PVE leveling is not all about DPS, its about traveling.

Proposal about warhorn changes (shout warrior)

in Warrior

Posted by: niedawow.6725

niedawow.6725

Hello fellow warriors,

I play a warrior as my exclusive character due to my limited time and enjoying it quite a bit. There are some concerns of course like with all those broken traits and uncertain effects, like our survivability in WvWvW, like our usefullness in tPvP and so on. There are quite a few bugs that need to be addressed, but all in all it is an interesting class to play.

Currently I am running my own version of a sword-warhorn(mace)/rifle build, with rifle being my main weapon and the off-set as means to apply melee presure on squishy targets. I do fine, win some, loose not too many and in the open field in zerg situations I completely destroy single targets, which I pick rather carefully.

Now, in 1on1 or controlled group situations I realy miss the gimmicks, that other classes have. We apply damage and have some minor perks (healing shouts, which btw are amazing in siege scenarios), but thats it.

So my proposal: make a change so we can actualy use the warhorn as a primary weapon too. The warhorn itself has damage stats, so why not use it this way too? My vision is a GW2 version of the “singing barbarian” from D2.

The #1 chain could be a melee attack chain with some boon negation effect (DPS wise it could be as good as mace’s)
The #2 ability could be a melee hit with semi-short boon(s) steal (if no boons on target, apply random boon(s) that expires before you can use the skill again to prevent boon stacking) and apply-it-to-friendlies-in-range gimmick.
The #3 ability could be a melee hit with aoe chill (mighty roar that freezes enemies in 600 aoe range for 1 sec).
The #4 and 5# abilities I quite enjoy, so leave them be.

This way you have an offensive supporter (as opposite to the defensive supporter like the guardian) that is capable of dealing somewhat good DPS and capable of applying control/disable opponents in the front lines (or support the ranged teammates via weapon swap and ranged weapon).

Your thoughts?

Cheers,
N

Dual weapons and Sigil effects.

in Warrior

Posted by: niedawow.6725

niedawow.6725

I am running my old version of a sword&warhorn/rifle build.

Sword – Life leech
Warhorn – Hydromancy (aoe freeze on swap)
Rifle – 5% crit passive

My life leech is procing.
The aoe freeze on swap is not procing reliably, maybe in 50% of all cases.
The 5% crit I don’t even know if it does something, because it is not represented in the char sheet (ie I swap into rifle and crit chance stays the same).

So yeah, sigils need to get looked into and their effects need to be represented better. As the effects of our traits. I mean those which actualy work.

Exactly, there are none. I am not expecting everything to be fixed ASAP, but let’s start with fixing the visibility of bonuses from traits, so we can actualy say which of them are broken or not. After that we can start fixing the traits and perhaps, just perhaps working a couple of the useless ones over.

Thanks for the build, Yojack. Realy enjoying it.

Short question of general nature – the warhorn, it does no offhand damage at all? It seems to me this way, because I am doing way more damage with axe as offhand.

The loss in DPS is compensated by the two abilities of the warhorn?
