A few of Etiénne, my dishy level 80 guardian’s, ever changing looks. I love how you can mix and match armor in this game. It’s like having a 3D paper dolly you can play dress up with, then go out and kick the snot out of monsters.
BLTC? Short for what?
Anyone else having an issue with Trading Post? When I try to use it, my icons are oversized, the columns are all squished over onto the left side of the pane and run off the bottom of the window, so the “next” and “previous”, “first” and “last” buttons are unusable. If I try to sell something, the text appears on top of the items and I cant read it. All the text is white so you cannot identify the grade of the item by clolor. The gem store tab is totally unusable. Nothing pops up when I click on the options along the top of the window. I have contacted Anet early this morning and so far no response. Last night when I logged off everything was A-Okay. I am mystified and frustrated, because my bags are stuffed with rares and exotics to sell, and I can’t do diddly.
Incidentally, everything else in the game is working just fine. No issues with any other interface. Crafting, vendors, karma, bank, everything working fine. Just Trading Post is mucked up. Suggestions?
Yes I have 100% borderlands completion, and eternal battleground complete. And I have ported to each pve zone map and checked them. All 100% complete. But when I look at world map, the overall completion information says i have 10 vistas, 16 poi, and 3 sp missing. Oddly, last week they all said complete except 2 vistas, which i grabbed today. So I am really frustrated and confused.
Just last week I was stuck at 98%, and the only thing I needed to get 100% world complete was 2 vistas in one borderland. Today I finally got them, but no achievement… and when I went to my map suddenly it says I have 10 vistas, 16 poi and 3 sp missing! But when I go to each map, every one is 100% complete! All wps, all sps, all vistas, all poi discovered, all maps 100% complete. How can every map be 100% complete, but I have 10 vistas, 16 poi and 3 sp missing? Is there a bug?
I am so confused and frustrated. I have completed every map 100%… every vista, every waypoint, every skill point, every point of interest, in both the pve world and wvw. Just last week I was stuck at 98%, and when I checked my map the ONLY things missing were two vistas in one wvws borderland. I just finally got them… but NO 100% WORLD COMPLETION. So I look at my map again… suddenly I have a LOT of missing pois, vistas, sps and wps. But, if I mouse over each and every map they are all 100% COMPLETE. I know some new wps were added so I port to each zone and look for them, and found 2 missing wps, and now EVERY map says 100% complete. How can every map be 100% complete but I don’t have world completion? Was a bunch of stuff added in the last patch? What’s the deal? Anyone think they might know what my problem is and how I can resolve it? I am missing 10 vistas (huh??) 16 poi (wtf??) and 3 sp! But just last week all I was missing was 2 vistas!
Yes that’s how I reported the others. But she blinks in and out and moves so fast across the terrain I literally cannot target her long enough to right click and report before she moves out of range. I got tired of trying to run after her round and round the Ice Floe.
Just a couple weeks ago, I was feeling hopeful that Anet had gotten a handle on the rampant botting issues that have been plaguing the game. No more “bot bubbles” of power leveling lowbies in lvl 80 zones, no herds of naked rangers running across every landscape, no more competing with 5-6 bots for every kill to gather resources. Things were looking up. And then…. a few days ago… duhn duhn duhn… a new breed of bot started showing up at every popular farming spot. I first ran into them up at Shattered Ice Floe, where people often come to try and farm some lodestones. There was a crew of five bots there farming non stop. Annoying yes, but in the past you could always run along with them or outrun them to at least get your share of mobs. The NEW bots are much worse than the ones that had been previously banned from this spot. They are all using speed/teleport hacks. They instantly teleport to w/in attack range of a mob, kill it before you can catch up, then blink to the next one. I have seen them teleport to one end of the ice floe way out in front of me, then suddenly they are behind me, halfway to the other side and killing a mob that just that instant spawned. There is no competing with a five-man crew of teleporting bots. As you watch them, they blink in and out of view, so its even hard to target them to report them.
A lot of people just view botting as an annoyance, but as a “veteran” of many past mmos, I can tell you, this is the kind of thing that kills games. They are there to farm items to generate gold they sell online, but that’s not all. They also farm items you and I would, as legit players, farm to sell and get our own game currency, flooding the market with these easily farmed items and driving their prices into the dirt, making it very difficult for you to grind out adequate game currency of your own. At the SAME time, they are getting drops of more desirable items (like rare and exotic gear, and lodestones), and those they put on trading post for HIGHER prices than normal, driving prices up and making the gap between what you can “earn” by your own efforts, and what you want to buy, wider and wider. They are counting on the fact that a significant number of players will become discouraged at how much time they have to grind to buy just one item they want, and will go online to buy their gold. This is the same strategy online gold sellers have used to hijack countless game economies, and without exception, players eventually leave those games because they get sick of competing with botting, speed hacking, teleporting, gold farming crews for every lousy drop.
It will happen to GW2 also, if Anet doesn’t nip this in the bud. I know they are working hard to try and find solutions to this problem. But maybe they should be looking at the root of the problem.. the players that buy gold online. If there were no customers for online game currency, there would be no gold farming bots. I don’t know how players caught in this activity are punished, but they should be banned for life. And anyone who knows someone buying gold online should report that player immediately, guildie or not, before their laziness ruins a perfectly good game for everyone.
For a start, I would love it if Anet could at least ban the crew that’s up at Shattered Ice Floe. It’s just too frustrating to be up there watching Andregon Galreth, Krizell, Hezyraël and Fighting Rare teleport back and forth from mob to mob (there is one more bot with them, but she moves so fast I can’t even get a clear picture of her name to report her).
Please please PLEASE look into this, and to those players who buy gold online… YOU STINK! (I would like to use other language, but that would get me banned.)

The newest twist on botting — BOT BUBBLES. 10-15 bots will stack on each other and auto attack everything that spawns w/in their attack range, pulling them to their bubble and then dropping aoe and traps to kill them. You see them all over lvl 80 zones… and the bots are often only lvl 15-20. I have played a lot of MMO’s over the last 10 years, but I have never seen a game with such blatant, widespread, serious botting going on, and for it to get this bad in such a short time since release is very scary. It’s like they are just thumbing their noses at Anet and every legit player in the game. You cannot go anywhere in the game world without having to compete with them for kills and resources.
Not to mention what this is doing to the game economy, and how much worse it will get in the future if this isn’t stopped now. The REASON they lvl up innumerable crews of max level characters is so they can safely farm items in high lvl zones, to generate game currency to sell online for real cash, and to do that, they flood the TP with cheap easily farmed items (the stuff you and I would normally sell to make gold), gutting those prices. At the same time, they drive UP the prices of the rare drops they get. This is how ALL gold selling operations have always hijacked every game economy they are allowed to flourish in. I have seen it a half dozen times, and it will happen to GW2 also if the trend continues. People who don’t see the harm in it, or worse yet, buy gold online, are hastening the end of the very game they play.
Please please PLEASE, Anet, do something SERIOUS about this. You are going to be losing a lot of players if this is allowed to continue.
