That might be quite some work but I believe it’s within the trends of the game. We have united cross-server trading post, cross-server megaservers and then this thing of the past, which is server-specific guilds. Sort of not logical.
carpal tunnel is annoying, so whatever lessens the strain, I’m all for it. I especially dream of anything that allows to buy in bulk/open in bulk. It’s hugely annoying even to buy Obsidian Shards in 10s. Clicking and clicking and clicking. Farm for 2 hours in Orr = endless clicking of loot bags and champ bags. Eating luck, even after crafting it all to 200s, is clicking and clicking. Really unhealthy. :/
I dunno, I was lucky enough that when I was a very green newbie at level 20, I clued in to some sort of living world event being there on my screen all the time — I didn’t know it was a living world event, mind you. It was just something about some election and going to vote. It taunted me. So I travelled all over the map to completely unknown location of Labirintyne Cliffs and wow. There was a lot of fun things to do. Crystal jumps? Travelling, again, all over the unknown world to find some kites? I died like 500 times but it was very very interesting.
Then I discovered that those events change every 2-3 weeks. Since then it was what kept my interest. Hearts, boss farm, dungeons? Just means to an end, meaning better gear or gold. But living world events and wvw is what I find fun.
Hi guys,
recently I activated guild bonuses for the weekend (10% MF for 3 days, 15% karma for 24 hours etc) for our guild (that has been created at Gandara) but the bonuses don’t work for our guildies who aren’t from Gandara. When we compared magic find via achievements panel and equipment panel, I clearly have the guild bonus but they don’t. When they guest to Gandara, it doesn’t work either, even though they represent.
I contacted GM and they explained to me the following: "the Guild’s platform works separately on each World. If you belong to a Guild named “Guildexample” and your account is located in Sea of Sorrows you will gain Guild Bonuses that were activated for “Guildexample” at Sea of Sorrows, however, if another player from “Guildexample” activates a Guild Bonus in Gandara, this Guild bonus will only affect Guild member located at Gandara, they will not affect the Guild Members from “Guildexample” at Sea of Sorrows even if they are guesting at Gandara, regardless of the Mega Servers".
I think this is grossly unfair. With the release of Megaservers, it’s become much easier to make friends all over the game. We now go to dungeons with people from all over the game, farm bosses or do events with people from wherever. We connect, we want to stay together in some cosy friendly place, such as a guild. And then we discover that when we want to share some benefits, like MF or Karma bonuses, we can’t. So I think that system the GM described is rather obsolete. If the game experience have been “globalised”, so to say, various aspects of it should be globalised too.
I’m totally seconding Gimli’s suggestion. I also use at least 3 alts daily and I also do a trip through bank. And I totally wouldn’t be buying new set for every character unless I fall in love with a different skin because I would consider that to be exploitative from GM towards the players. So far game management worked to make the game more convenient to players rather than themselves. I don’t see how making these tools work the same way as AP chest skins would be different.
I second it, actually. I mean, I farm there and there are POI and waypoints. So why not add it?
Well, I’m using the gem salvage kit so I only need one with the highest (non-gem) percentage, which I forge when needed.
Pretty please with a cherry on top? I would really love to give it to a friend or two for winter holidays. It would be an ideal gift.
Hey guys,
I think the game needs a decent karma sink. At the moment, Karma is one of the game currencies but it can hardly be used for anything. I’ve been playing for 4 months and I have about 700k of it pure + almost a thousand bottles. I did buy Karma armor for my character a couple of times already. Assuming I’ll use some of it to gear up my two baby characters when they reach 80, there still will be a ton of it left with nothing to spend it on, and the amount keeps growing.
I’m not a game macro-economist so I’m wary about suggesting something definite, but I think something should be done about it.
