Can't Reach Character Select Screen After Update

Just downloaded the update for today and no after logging on and clicking play I end up getting a completely white screen where the character selection screen is supposed to be. After I get a message asking me to send a report to arena net because an error occurred. Any help?

Going from a level 30 Story Quest to a level 48 ( skipping the story line!! )

Just happened to me and my girlfriend a couple hours ago too! Playing the quests together and BAM! She ended up on a level 48 quest. I laughed and told her to just log off and try again but lo and behold nothing worked.
