I agree. The new UI for crafting is pretty terrible, and is a step backward from what it used to be. It screws up several simple ways I used the crafting interface.

For example, I want to craft a few of something. Before, I would click a few times, then hit craft. (Note: this means that I do not have to take my hands off of WASD and mouse. This is a good thing!) I can no longer do this. The slider is way too sensitive to just click and drag up to a specific with any amount of precision. I either have to drag up and down until I get the number I want to craft, or take my hands off the keyboard to enter a number, which also brings me to the second issue.

I now have to push enter to lock in a number of items I want to craft, where as before, I did not have to. While I initially had the same problem as mentioned above, where I thought the UI for typing a number was completely broken, there was still no reason to make this change. Why add additional button presses/clicks when there is no need to?

The slider for numbers is a pretty nifty thing, but it shouldn’t replace the old UI, especially since it does a poor job of replacing the quickness with which I can craft “a few” of something.

Thought I’d throw in as well. Attempted to buy 31 small claws and 50 wool scraps this morning. The trading post happily took some of my money, but did not send me any of my purchase.
