And another beautiful bug, the holograms didn’t spawn in the Clockheart room.

Did anybody tested this dungeon at all before releasing it? From what I hear from other team members lots of bugs occur on daily basis.

Well, the screenshot says it all i guess. One of our players for no good reason was stuck behind the forcefield doors. That’s a bummer.

(In this screenshot there’s one group member less because, well, he rage quited, not that it was unexpected.)

We had to have one player leave the party and connect again to make it work.

How to disable mouse smoothing?

The mouse smoothing is killing me, whole game feels so terribly sluggish and not responsible because of that. I don’t see an option to turn it off in the options, is it possible to get rid of it by editing some kind of .ini file or something?

i started alt couse i got bored from my main and guess what??? My enitre starting zone is empty. I’ ve seen like 6 player in total last 2 days… I cant lvl up becouse i cant finish the events solo ( at least half of em )

Yeah, it’s quite an issue for me too.

There are some areas that are tailored specifically for huge pve battles (Harathi Hinterlands, Straits of Devastation) and they were incredibly fun while it lasted. But they’re almost empty now, and It’s too hard for a single player to accomplish anything.

Considering that there will be a lot of new pretty themed art to admire, that would be a good opportunity to finally let us see it in it’s full glory by increasing FOV. But then again, Jon stated, that it’s not likely going to happen.

This game needs a [English] after its servers, This insanity must end.

Some people aren’t comfortable with using another language. Their words obviously aren’t addressed to purely English-speaking people. Why should we even bother?

Of course sometimes it’s uncomfortable when the /map is having a lively discussion that I can’t understand, but then again that’s how English appears to some people. I don’t see them complaining, and to be fair they have no less rights for it.

so till the servers go offline?

I’m not a specialist, but as far as I see GW2 is losing players and (from my experience) my mates stopped playing mostly because the game doesn’t feel fun, aka “you can’t see what’s going on”. I might sound like a broken record, I know. Now, when the new WOW expansion came out there is significant amount of players who notices that in direct comparison GW2 camera shows players nothing but a ground and some of their character’s back. And it really hits you hard. I’d expect them to include a FOV slider very soon.

Just seems flat out odd that it’s not an option and that they seem against it so much.

It was the same with Guild Wars 1, there were lots of incredibly stupid design decisions that community complained about, but ANet stood their ground (changed most of them eventually). I guess it’s just how they work. What surprises me is that they haven’t learned a thing.

Some strange camera bugs (distance, aspect, fov)

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

I don’t know if it’s something wrong with my client, or my PC, or my account, but I’ve noticed, that maximum camera distance for Norn is… well, saying “unalanced” would be fair enough. It’s particuraly visible when you need to “disguise” yourself as a smaller humanoid while playing Norn. Just see the screenshots – it’s the same location, camera is at the fuhrest distance. Or maybe it’s just my character that is somehow broken and his max camera distance is shorter, than it should be?

It’s definitely a bug, for once.

But what’s more interesting for some unidentified reasons camera max distance and field of view seems to vary on different computers. My friend is using the same monitor model as me, exactly the same aspect ratio, exactly the same resolution, and he can zoom out much further, also his field of view is much bigger, both vertically and horizontally. He isn’t using any mods.

Unfortunately I can’t give you screenshots for this issue ATM (I’ll provide them ASAP), but definitely there’s something fishy and critical. And it’s not that we’ve been comparing our views while being in different locations (I guess, that by area the camera distance and FOV might vary…?). I don’t know, maybe something wasn’t updated on my account yet, or maybe it’s because I have and AMD GPU (he has nVidia), but it’s really unfair that while we have the same monitors he can see much more.

They did. It’s just that nobody is actually using it.

Press Y, the second tab is “looking for group”. I’d agree that this implementation is far from satisfying and it’s kind of hard to find, but it’s here.

FoV math is bugged on widescreens!

Recently even some of my fellow players that previously had nothing against the narrow field of view started to complain more often about it, usually due to inability to see what’s going on in WvW (for example there’s no chance to win against a Thief other than luck, as for most of the time this class appears to be beyond warring player’s point of view).

This is a ticking bomb waiting to go off that’s not only killing some of PVE enjoyment (world seems small, flat, tight), but also removing (yes!) any class balance and environmental awareness from PVP.

FOV slider is a must. It’s been an issue since the first BWE, there are tons of people complaining, it’s easy to fix, does NOT change balance at all (3 screen setups, playing windowed allows to bypass the default FOV).

Please, ArenaNet, hear our cries.

Camera control issues - a documented list

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

At the moment it’s hard to understand any of the decisions behind the camera.

At furthest zoom out you can see mostly ground, at nearest zoom in you can see nothing but your character’s back. It’s like if they couldn’t decide if they want an “action-type” camera (then give me a wider FOV, because I can’t see a thing when the camera is near my character!) or “wow-type” camera with a character in the middle of the screen (then give me an ability to zoom out to the level when this backward kind of camera placement is acceptable).

In some interviews ArenaNet stated, that they want players to focus on what’s going in front of them, that they don’t want anything to stand between the player and the world. The thing is, that with this camerawork only thing you can focus on is your character.

Yes, it’s that bad. Admit it. Even trying to look around and admire the environment is a fight with the camera placement and in lots of cases it’s impossible to see what’s going on out there, not matter how hard you try.

Camera needs a major redesign and it’s not “something worth doing”, but a crucial issue, especially if they want to market this thing to professional players.

There are many complaints about the game’s optimization with AMD GPU’s, especially with the crossfire. It’s just something to be fixed, we need to wait patiently.

AMD X2 6000+
4GB ram
Windows 7 x64
AMD Radeon HD4850 512mb

Mostly low and medium settings, there’s no difference in performance with lower graphic settings.

20-30 fps when standing still and looking at the wall or in location without any characters; drops to 5-10 fps when rotating the camera or moving the character. Somewhat acceptable in PvE, but WvW is unplayable.
