This worked like a charm for me. Changed the wireless adapter’s settings to use DNS 8.8.8.8 with secondary 8.8.4.4 and it updated without a problem. I’m using Dodo ADSL2+.
It started off downloading at approximately 100-150kb/s, but dropped to 10-30kb/s toward the end, but it worked beautifully. I’m also updating stuff on my iPad which probably affected the speed too

So last night I recreated my support ticket according to what they asked, and this morning I got helped! I had secured my gmail by linking my phone, and all I needed was a password reset.
THANK YOU GUILD WARS SUPPORT! Been dying to play again!
For the record, my initial ticket was from the 1st of September.
