I understand where you are coming from Mist, however, it is not forced upon you to do this achievement or get that title (if it were to exist). It’s not like the achievement points would be so monumental that you had to have them… and the title is mainly for the people who want to go for that anyway. Also, you would not have to spend a dime of real money for a character slot anyway because gems can be purchased solely from in game gold.
I see this addition as an opportunity for people to have that extra push to get their last characters to 80 after the long roads of leveling all of the others, it gets quite tedious going through the same deal 8 times and have no proof to show in game. I believe it is an achievement to get to this point, just as any other achievement that takes less time/effort to accomplish.
There are achievements and titles in every corner of the game, but none for max leveling every profession to 80. Am I the only one that would like to see this added? It takes quite a bit of time and effort for most people… more so that a lot of the achievements and titles currently.
Who else has achieved or is close to achieving this? Do you think you should be rewarded for doing so, just as a person is rewarded for being a master crafter or dungeon master?
The title says it all… I think there should be an achievement and title for maxing out every profession (class) in the game. This does take some time and effort to accomplish for most people, and there are achievements for just about everything else you could imagine but not this one. I am about half way with my very last profession from accomplishing this myself, and that extra incentive would really help.
I would very much appreciate consideration of this addition, thank you.
I normally do not visit the forums except on the odd occasion I’m not able to play and have fun in the game. After this recent update however, I choose to spend my time reading the forums instead of playing the game. I have logged in maybe once since the Lost Shore event and am now re-downloading my old games to have something to play again. I might pop back in GW2 every now and then to see if they have made it any better, but GW2 is definitely not MY game any longer. The thought of playing just leaves a bad taste for me now.
I ran FotM a few times, and didn’t enjoy it. I do not enjoy jumping puzzles, not everyone does… so why add it to a dungeon which has to be grinded repeatedly? I consider myself an avid dungeon crawler and I enjoyed the other dungeons in the game. Now not only can I not find a group for those dungeons, they have also been made pointless to run due to exotics being subpar.
These are just a couple of reasons the game is no longer for me, now I am scoping out other possibilities on the horizon. I am thoroughly disappointed however, I had such high hopes for GW2 and thought it would be my ‘home’ but it is taking a turn for the worst.
Thank you so much for your replies. There are indeed quite a few options for us and I’m glad to see so many welcoming hands. We will definitely get in touch to find out more information for those who we think fit us best.
My husband and I are looking for a new guild because our other is dying. We are playing a thief and necromancer -both lvl 80 in full exotics- with alt Guardians not far behind. We know our classes inside and out, and like to think of ourselves as good players. We mostly run dungeons and are tired of dealing with pugs. We have played various other games and are team players. MMO’s are much more fun playing with like-minded individuals and we have yet to experience much of that in GW2.
We are willing to transfer servers, and plan on only having one guild if it is the right one for us. We usually play starting 8 pm EST on weekdays and off and on all day on weekends. We are looking for an active guild that has dungeon runs going around our playtime. Thanks for reading!
*edit: We are currently on Crystal Desert
I’m not sure why Thieves get so overlooked for their ‘support’ aspect which is, in my opinion, amazing. Yes guardians provide boons, position control, and shields etc. but their support has its limitations. I have both a guardian and thief and I can say without a doubt my support thief can turn the tide of an encounter moreso than my support guardian. I believe this is so overlooked because it is rare to see a thief built for support, so people do not see their capabilities in action. I think the biggest asset thieves provide is completely switching enemy aggro. If someone is about to go down…stealth them, the boss/mob will now fight someone else completely ignoring the damaged player even after the stealth has run its course. These stealths if traited also apply regen to that player or the entire group. If someone is downed, stealth revive them. Thieves can revive people in the most hopeless of circumstances without being seen. Thieves can also perma blind mobs to where group members never get hit in the first place. Another great tool is the shortbow blast which can be spammed repeatedly on any combo field such as a water field pulsing heals on anyone standing inside. I am sure I am leaving out other important things but you get the idea.
Yes, guardians are the go-to support for most people because it is the most strait forward way of thinking about support, but in truth any profession can shine in this regard if you know what you are looking for. If you like the mesmer, I full heartedly believe you could provide massive support on that class alone, but if you are looking for a new profession, thieves are much in line with the sort of play style of the mesmer. Guardians are a very different kind of beast and can feel quite static in their support abilities which are a lot of times only useful to other melee group members.
@helladoom
Switch utilities and elite skills to what the situation calls for. Switch the major traits around to other things that suit the dungeon or a group, you don’t necessarily have to reset all the points. There are support skills in every tree, you just have to find them. Hopefully everyone isnt running around full glass cannon without a single vitality or compassion trait whatsoever…if so don’t complain about dying in open world.
@xErtherx
I agree with you 100%. My husband and I both run support based builds in dungeons and at the end of every run, the rest of the group claim that was the smoothest run they have had in so and so dungeon.
What ends up happening is he and I work our ‘kittens’ off carrying the 3 Dpskittens (that sounds familiar doesnt it?). We work off eachother’s combofields, communicate, change aggro as necessary, and understand what the other is capable of – while the other group members faceroll with their pure damage builds and wonder why they get downed so much. People seem to think they can enter a dungeon with the same build they use in DE’s and soloing with the racial skills for flavor instead of bringing their best tools for the challenge ahead. These dungeons are not come as you are and have fun, they are come with the best you have and adapt as necessary.
If everyone would build their characters with support in mind, there would be no ‘carrying’, and there would be no failed dungeon attempts. It is about knowing what you and the rest of your group are capable of and working together.

As far as Pve goes, how do you cater to grouping and dungeons? Do you have a certain night for that, or do you see groups forming in guild pretty often for those?
Are you only looking for hardcore Wvw players at this time?
Thanks
Level 80 Thief and a Necro/Guardian looking for a guild based on grouping for dungeons. We are both team players, and love cooperative play and working together to achieve set goals. Both of us are experienced gamers and are very active. Would prefer a guild on Crystal Desert, but any server having like minded individuals is welcomed.
80 Thief, 25 Guardian, 20 Ranger, 15 Elementalist, 15 Engineer
Game: 4/10 and dropping until they start fixing the huge pile of problems. It is taking the fun out of it for me.
