I’ve opened the required ports (80, 443, 6000 and 6112, I think) and have also done a packet loss test. It’s not on my end. It’s definitely the game server
I’m getting that constantly but only during the time period of 1800 (10 GMT) and 0200 (10 GMT). Other times I seem to be OK.
As I mentioned in another post, I’ve tried packet loss diagnosis, and it turns out all good. I’ve tried opening ports and turning off Norton to no effect.
It has been over a week and no response from ANet. Has anyone solved this problem before or does it just go away after a few weeks?
Okay update: Have tried the following:
1) disabled antivirus – does not work
2) open ports – does not work
3) did a packet loss diagnosis – it’s all good
Since it’s the weekend I tried playing at different times. At 2 a.m. (10 GMT), I managed to play normally. at 10 a.m. (10 GMT) also no problems although a bit laggy. Tried today at 8 p.m. (10 GMT) and again at 10 p.m. (10 GMT). Cannot get to my characters again.
I can only conclude that the problem is not on my end at all. Would appreciate if there was someone who could help out. I only started playing late last year so I don’t know if this problem has been solved before.
Logged in today, got to one of my characters but it was so laggy that I couldn’t even chat or use any actions. Several other tries and I couldn’t even load my characters. Always the same error: client cannot connect to game servers.
Have tried disabling antivirus software, have opened ports. Nothing works.
I did see some people in the server though. Is this affecting only a specific region? Are people from Australia / SEA getting shafted due to China?
Been trying every day. Can log in, can select character but I cannot load into the world at all.
I suffered some lag in new content but since the small server side patch 2 days ago I have experienced a constant 1-2 second delay on any skill that jumps the character, such as thief steal, Heartseeker, warrior or guardians leaps. all maps.
The lag is still there for other skills but is unplayable for any positional skills. ie leap can see me relocate to a position the mob is no longer occupying.
High speed Cable connection, Brisbane Australia. ping and traceroute looks normal.
Have to echo this. I’m playing from Melbourne, Australia. I can log on, but trying to play any of my characters (in American servers) usually ends with a failure to connect, or if I do get on after waiting for 15 mins, my character can’t do any actions. This has been going on for 3 days or so now.
One of my guild mates was already reporting that his connection was slowed to a crawl 4 days ago.
Seriously, it has to be the game servers or some connection between Australasia to the American servers because there isn’t anything else that I play with this problem.
