Some points made on why anet should not support gvgs that I would like to address:
1. GvGs are not fun to spectate + 20+ members too big for esports
Gvgs are not fun to spectate is an opinion, I enjoy spectating them. Additionally we do not want esports mode where guilds of 20+ members get invited to a lan event, that’s silly. ALL we want is a map (Obsidian Sanctum) that we can challenge guilds from all servers to fight in a 20v20. That’s it. Leave the “esports” to spvp.
2. GvGs take no skill
Lol. You must have never participated in high level gvgs. Although I can consider the point that Gvgs take less individual skill than spvp the ability to get 20 members working together as a TEAM is a challenge in itself. Additionally all gvg guilds that were good spent hours pouring over all player’s footage to fix individual player’s mistakes to improve an individual’s skill so gvgs do take individual skill.
3. A que system would’t work for 20v20
Again we are not asking for a que system. ALL we are asking is for a map (Obsidian Sanctum) where we can fight guild from all different servers.
4. The community isn’t big enough/the community is wishy-washy
The gvg community has been dying and coming back because of guilds getting fed up with no anet support. With even the tiniest amount of support from anet I am sure that most to all of the gvg community would come back to the game. Additionally the community isn’t big enough? That’s the point of this post. Our UNSUPPORTED game mode gets the same amount of viewers as spvp does on twitch and they pour tons of money into supporting spvp. That seems like the same amount of community interest to me. And who knows with support the gvg community can only grow larger

The point is that anet is wasting its beautiful combat system that works wonders with large scale combat. There is a sizeable community willing to pay anet tons of money for just instancing Obsidain Sanctum to allow us to fight guilds from every server. We are not asking for esports or for anything close to that we just want anet to support a community that has been created in their game.

+1 agree with what has been stated in this thread

It’s a shame that gw2’s amazing combat system for large scale combat is not supported at all by anet. Multiple guilds of 20+ people have been fighting each other for 2.5 years without support, imagine how lively the community would be with it. It doesn’t make sense to me not to take advantage of a lively community that will give you money if you pour just a little amount of work into it.

Solution to fix the population imbalance

I apologize if this has already been said in this forums(I didn’t read all responses) but from my reading I see common responses to common solutions that we have come up with.
1. Server Merging: I always see people saying they enjoy their community and would not want to leave and that merging servers would make them mad. Also it seems to be a problem on who gets merged with whom.
2. Population Cap: I don’t like this idea because it seems that making ques longer by allowing less people to play is a bad idea. In a perfect world where everyone spread evenly across servers I guess this can work but I don’t see this one working.

So my solution is to make a reduced number of completely new servers. A-net can determine the number of servers that would be appropriate with the wvw population and make, lets say 9, completely new servers. Everyone gets to pick their new server that they want to join and this way all communities will get split up (or coordinate and pick a server together, its up to them). The advantage of these new servers is that, hopefully it will balance all of them to be competitive with each other.

Lets bring back the magic of Seven Mirror! In his words:

“My goal here is survivabilty while still having a high impact shatter or having a hard hitting phantasm. In WvW, running into group’s of players is a common occurance, so below I have detailed a survival build that allows a Mesmer to handle said groups. The traits and gear are listed below if you find yourself liking the playstyle of a certain video.”

Anyway I was wondering if any of you guys have builds that have high survivabilty and damage (as his builds are kind of out-dated).

Really loving this build I’m just having a hard time getting a full rabid set of gear. Any advice from you guys?
