Issues with 64-bit Client

Sounds like he knows that the 32-bit client worked. And he wants to use that to play the product he’s paid for rather than getting involved with fixing a client he didn’t ask for.

He can still send in the reports for the crashes he has experienced even if he does get the 32-bit client to tide him until he wants to try the 64-bit client again.

Because there’s something about his computer’s set up that’s causing the game to crash. I’ve yet to experience a single crash that wasn’t already fixed with the 64-bit client. The only crash I had was with a specific personal story step that I believe has sense been fixed. So it’s obviously not the 64-bit client by itself that’s causing the crashing. It’s the combination of it and the OP’s computer.

The OP can’t expect ANet to be able to fix the problem if they don’t have the information about why it crashed when it did. That’s all ANet’s asking from the OP. The crash logs so that they look into why it crashed so that they have a chance of being able to fix it.

You understand how monotonous that gets though, right? I only normally post stuff here if I’m genuinely interested in the issue as I work in development. That’s probably the reason I don’t have any character over level 20… I just give up after receiving the same responses over and over again, providing the same information over and over again.

Judging by the tech support forum page, there are issues with the 64-bit client. Period. There are too many people posting about the same things. He wants a client that works. He doesn’t want to get involved in the fix process, he just wants to play. That’s perfectly reasonable for someone who is, like me, incredibly frustrated with the kinds of problems this game has and the frequency at which they seem to appear.

I booted the game up earlier with no problems once the progress hit the ‘playable’ marker. I decided to go out and let it continue.

Just came home to no ‘playable’ marker, and just ‘Ready’ where ‘Play’ should be. So now I can’t play even though my game folder is over 10GB over what it was when I could play earlier.

Although… I’ve just noticed that the ‘playable now’ marker is a lot nearer to 0% than it was…

Based on that, I can probably guess that the files I downloaded are kept between closing the client. Interesting way of displaying that though!

5.5GB right now.

Thanks

Yep… the remaining file count is back up to 245,000+.

I’m now on my 4th day of trying to download the GW2 client.

For one reason or another I’ve had to shut down my PC or close the client whilst the download is in progress. I refuse to believe that all that data is lost but my download was at 63% yesterday before I had to close the installer.

Today, after about an hour, it’s at 7%. So is that 7% more than the existing 63%? Because from what I can see, it’s just 7%.

How many password resets do you need?

So I thought I’d start attempting to play this game again… I try every so often but I end up just giving up after resetting my password a few times, each one being wrong when it comes to login and ending up in the same old loop which normally includes a generic “an error has occurred” message.

I’ve never seen a security process like this. It’s a video game, not a stock trading account. It wouldn’t be so bad if the process weren’t so broken.

Whilst writing this, I received a password reset link. Guess what? No password is acceptable. According to you guys, “vjew45hliur4ng” is a password that either myself of others have used in the past. Really? My blind-typed password has already been used??

Same thing every single time I try to play this game.

One more try and I’ll probably wait another year or so before trying to play again.

The funniest part? The forum auto logs me in but I don’t know my password for the client so I can’t actually play the game.

What a mess.
