I’m also getting the same error message and keep getting kicked out to character select screen every few minutes for the past couple of hours now.
I haven’t noticed the other symptoms the OP is talking about though.

After coming back and playing for a week without any disconnects, today I’ve been disconnecting every 3-20 minutes and the issue is not on my end.
Same here, constant disconnects for several hours now.
